The UK's Department of Work & Pensions is one of the biggest government departments. It deals with 22 million customers and has a staff of 83,000. Delivering effective change at scale can be challenging and Release and Test is a key component within Tech Services (DWP) Transformation.
To accomplish this the department is establishing common priorities, standards and delivery methods. The number one priority is a richer data footprint to support more automation and self-service. The digital transformation has seen the department bring large IT contracts in-house, modernize legacy infrastructure, and build professional digital skills.
The Service Transformation Release and Test team where the successful candidate will work, is responsible for key tooling that is used to support agile delivery and testing, notably Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence and SmartBear Test Management and Test Automation Tooling - Zephyr Enterprise and TestComplete.
As well as supporting our own Release & Test team, this tooling will be used across Digital so the role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders to agree and implement changes to the core tooling to support their needs.
This is an exciting time to join the team, as we move towards a continuous testing strategy and look to exploit test automation and CI/CD tools to support our objectives.
