Digital Project Manager: Up to £40,666, 27% pension and flexible working This is not your typical project management role with ownership and responsibility for key fraud and error assets used across government.

We're looking for a driven and passionate Digital Project Manager who can build digital capability, lead complex product delivery, and deliver successful outcomes.

You'll join our Counter Fraud and Compliance Operations team.

Our team is responsible for management/delivery of a large, complex and diverse work programme for Counter Fraud Compliance & Debt

It is currently the largest business directorate, impacting the DWP live estate across all service lines and arounfd 8,000 staff currently.

This is a unique and challenging opportunity to work with the business to deliver against appropriate, value for money requirements to support their fight against individual fraud, serious and organised crime and non-compliance.

This is not your typical project management role. Here you join and support a 6000 strong Fraud and Error team.

You have ownership and responsibility for key fraud and error assets. There are around 70 items to manage in this group. And you could be working on 20 items at once.

That means managing multiple projects at once - some will be large and complex and others not so much.

You might receive a request from one of our teams to access tooling needed to combat fraud and error, or to battle human trafficking. Stakeholders often come to us with a clear idea of what and who they want in terms of solutions. It's up to you to project manage those external solution options.

You'll need the resilience and commercial experience to design and broker approaches to suppliers of the right solutions. It's more externally facing than many PM jobs in DWP, you'll be dealing with contracts from 3rd party suppliers, and sensitive data from a range of sources.


What skills and experience do you need to show us?

  • You take full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of digital projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).
  • You have experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships.
  • You are an inclusive leader who can manage individual needs, views, and ideas, understands the impacts of your team's activities on stakeholders and end users and can communicate vision and purpose to your team.
  • You communicate in a straightforward, purposeful, honest and engaging manner, and you encourage use of different communication methods, including digital resources.
  • You motivate a team to deliver quality, and on time, using milestones and plans Promote a culture of following the appropriate procedures to ensure results are achieved on time whilst still enabling innovation.
  • You can apply different methods to develop a plan and can monitor and report on complex internal and external dependencies
  • You encourage joined-up team work which crosses boundaries, and role model collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
