Can you manage people and plans and co-ordinate senior stakeholders to delivery outputs and recommendations that will make DWP Digital better? Up to £59,589, 27%+ pension, flexible working and lots more

DWP. Digital with Purpose.

Here in DWP Digital, we're driving a once-in-a-generation transformation of government services, using fresh ideas and leading-edge technologies to create innovative, scalable and user-centric digital solutions

We are looking for someone who is brilliant at planning and co-ordinating, relationship management and driving outcomes to take a lead role in a crucial area for us.

We're part of DWP, the UK's largest government department. We help people into work, and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

The work we do is important and it's vital we get it right, and just as vital that our work is scrutinised.

You'll work with our external auditing partners, and key, senior DWP stakeholders, to co-ordinate and implement audits of the work we do in Digital Group. And when we get the results of those audits, you'll work with functional delivery leads and deputy directors to put any recommendations into practice, and to keep improving.

Duties. Work. Projects.

The work you do to manage people and plans will keep DWP Digital compliant, and protect the reputation of the department.

You'll steer co-ordination of reviews and the ongoing resolution of high profile audit recommendations. We see this role as varied, dynamic and deadline-focused, but also really important.

Your outcomes and outputs will often be visible at Director and Board level, with regular reporting on progress through focussed reporting. Your reports will be presented to Digital Directors and the Chief Digital Information Officer and be used to help move our organisation in the right direction.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead the design & implementation of an Audit Management Framework and dashboard ensuring consistent ways of working across Digital Group.

  • Support the design and implementation of an audit plan ensuring delivery against it.

  • Proactively work with functional teams across Digital Group to monitor and manage their audit recommendations.

  • Provide accurate, timely and relevant reports and briefings to board level stakeholders on Digital Group Audit plans and outstanding recommendations.

  • Communicate on a regular basis with a wide range of organisations and contacts, providing advice, analysis and information to inform senior leader decision making.

  • Support the development of the Business Management Job Family and Business Services Practice through community events.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • You can analyse and use a range of relevant, credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions making.

  • You have experience ensuring plans and activities in your area of work reflect wider strategic priorities, communicating effectively with senior leaders to influence future strategies.

  • You have experience of bringing together views, perspectives and diverse needs of stakeholders to gain a broader understanding of any issues surrounding your activities.

  • You know how to difficult messages with clarity and sensitivity, being persuasive when required.

  • You have experience of working in a large Digital organisation (or demonstrable understanding of how large Digital organisations operate in the context of the role)

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join us our brilliant digital hub in Blackpool (Peel Park). We're really accessible from the motorway from across the North-West.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work flexibly, and we offer hybrid working some time working from home and some time from the Blackpool hub.
