Job Purpose:

This position is to lead change in the existing Market Conformity Control (MCC) process to ensure on an ongoing basis that trades at non-conforming prices are properly investigated and escalated to mitigate operational, regulatory, reputational and other risks.

 The individual will be responsible with respect to the market conformity process for leading strategic initiatives; monitoring external (e.g. regulatory) and internal developments to assess impact to relevant data and processes; and identifying, investigating and facilitating remediation of data and process issues.

Job Background/Context:
  • The position resides ICG O&T Control and Reporting in the Department Operations Reporting Controls (ORC)
  • The individual will report to the ORC Senior Manager in London to ensure transparency and prioritization of required changes with compliance, resource, and cost implications
  • This position will cover the Market Conformity relevant legal vehicles located in Germany

    The individual will work extensively with the Frankfurt Market Conformity BAU team and any other stakeholders involved in Market Conformity projects, including project resources; Risk; Compliance; Product Control and the Business

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage necessary improvements to the MCC process
  • Investigate and facilitate resolution of process and data issues impacting the MCC process
  • Identify and lead changes to address upstream changes impacting the MCC process / tools / data (e.g. changes in product scope, data model)
  • Identify and lead changes to address regulatory changes and reflect to the MCC process / tools / data
  • Identify and lead opportunities to optimize / streamline processes and tools (e.g. UNO implementation)
  • Assist process owner in analyzing / reviewing price comparison tolerances for periodic (e.g. annual) discussion with and approval from Risk and the German Board
  • Facilitate internal and external Audit requests pertaining to Market Conformity change initiatives
  • Facilitate vendor / consultant relationship (e.g. with EY) to achieve project goals
  • Proactively advises relevant teams on upcoming changes and impact through delivery and maintenance of a strong communication plan
  • Facilitate management and governance of project meetings and working groups
  • Manage and escalate project risks
  • Create and / or manage project documentation including scoping documents project plans, score cards, risk and issue trackers, business requirements documentation, functional requirements documents, and test plans / scripts.
  • Ensures project workstreams' outputs meet requirements and are of appropriate quality

  • University degree or other equivalent financial background preferred
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. German skills would be useful but is not a requirement.
  • Knowledge all relevant products in the MC space (e.g. Warrants, Equities, FX, Money Market and OTC Option Products, Commodities, Spread Products, Multi Asset Products, Investor Services, Lending, Rates etc. )

  • 5 years in financial services experience; experience in a consulting firm is a plus
  • General knowledge of the European Securities Market and /or foreign markets and associated products
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of projects, operational process change and improvement
  • Experience in collecting, defining and documenting business and technology requirements, test plans and other project management documentation
  • Experience in facilitating compromises with stakeholders with competing interests
  • Experience in investigating / resolving data issues is critical
  • Experience in a high-paced controls environment at a large bank is a plus


  • Fluent English and basic German knowledge (written & spoken)
  • Good PC knowledge (desktop applications/Citi Applications / Maintenance of a Database)
  • Ability to analyze data to understand key trends and issues, as well as root causes
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural setting
  • Ability to facilitate discussions between stakeholders, at times with competing interests
