Job Purpose:

Part of the ICG/CPB Risk Management function - which is responsible for the control, oversight and credit transactions, across all products.  Private Bank clients are both Onshore and Offshore and the management of their facilities involves extensive interaction with the various Marketing Units, Investment Finance Specialist and Capital Markets trading desk

Job background/ context:

The CPB Investment Finance (IF) business offers a diverse range of products covering margin and securities backed loans, residential and commercial real estate lending, FX and Derivative trading facilities, Art and Aircraft loans as well as Private Equity Capital Call facilities.  The Collateral Monitoring Unit (part of ICG Risk) acts as a control and support function for the CPB IF lending organisation. The team are responsible for monitoring collateral positions versus exposures, issuance of margin calls, credit disbursement approvals and providing interim credit authorisation for securities trading and other client account activities.

Key Responsibilities:

The role requires good understanding and application of bank policies and procedures in performance of the following tasks:
• Direct supervision of a local team including distribution of work load, staff training and development and ensuring that theteam provides a superior level of customer service.
• Management and supervision of the processes undertaken by the teams supporting Credit Approval and Loan
• Administration, Credit Disbursements, Collateral Releases, Margin Call oversight and Credit Platform Payments Investigations Queue
• Ensure that margin calls are issues, tracked, reported, escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Supervision of systems maintenance required to monitor and control client credit facilities
• Day to day management and supervision of the processes supporting the FX and Derivative pre trade authorisation
• process (includes credit risk and initial margin calculations) and ensuring that Dodd Frank, CCAR and Basel Regulatory responsibilities are met.
• Communication of credit policy requirements and procedures to the front office and to provide guidance and support on the application of credit rules and use of credit systems
• Participate in  and coordinate CMU credit system enhancement project as required (includes coordinating CMU UAT activities)
• Preparation and coordination of deliverables for internal and external audits
• On-going Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) for key process risks and associated controls and monitoring.
• Coordination of CMU related non-tech projects and initiatives i.e. regulatory projects
• Preparation of  CMU management information decks for internal business partners
• Representing CMU/Risk on various internal forums

Knowledge/ Experience:
Highly motivated and innovative individual with experience of the following: -

• Managerial/supervisory experience critical
• Good credit or risk administration experience together with an understanding of financial instruments and credit, foreign exchange and derivative products
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good general administration and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify and communicate operational and control weaknesses and propose workable solutions
• Methodical and rigorous follow up on problem issues
• Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving.
• Knowledge of current banking regulations, especially CCAR, Basel capital adequacy and Bilateral Margin for OTC derivatives advantageous.
