As a Senior Financial Accountant Life Reinsurance you will support the extended project team responsible for the implementation of IFRS17 in Group Re. You will mainly focus on the requirements for the building block approach ("BBA"). We are looking for a professional who brings proven experience in financial accounting and very solid understanding of life (re-)insurance. You are familiar with the relevant IFRS standards. This position is limited to 12 months.
Your Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant Life Reinsurance your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Establish a solution design document for the introduction and implementation of the Building Block Approach in both, our assumed group-internal as well as for the accounting of the retroceded life business.

  • Liaise with relevant parties on Group and country level, such as Life actuaries, the project team, various accounting teams, local reinsurance contacts.

  • Review the Group Chart of Accounts in the area of Life reinsurance, ensure compliance with the Group Accounting Policy and propose changes to the Chart where needed.

  • Improve and elaborate validations to ensure high quality reporting.

  • Understand and close the gaps in the existing accounting framework for the Premium Allocation Approach ("PAA")

  • Presentation of accounting solution to management and team

Your Skills and Experience

As a Senior Financial Accountant Life Reinsurance your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Bachelor degree in business administration or equivalent, degrees in accounting and controlling are preferred

  • More than 10 years of experience in financial accounting
  • In-depth knowledge of Life Insurance and Reinsurance accounting

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS - Swiss statutory is a plus
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Experienced in working with multi-functional project teams

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP FI/CO and SAP BW is beneficial

  • Willing to take ownership, hardworking, persistent, able to work under pressure during peak times, team oriented personality

  • Global thinking to understand the dependencies within a multinational company

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
