Reserving Actuarial Analyst 80-100%, temporary until end of 2020


In this temporary role based in Zurich you are part of the Centre of Excellence CoE Zurich. The CoE Zurich is responsible for reserving General Insurance business in various European countries as well as the Commercial Insurance business in Europe.

Your Role

As a Reserving Actuarial Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Prepare and perform actuarial analysis including loss projections, technical reserves calculation for gross and reinsurance layers and cash flow projections

  • Develop and automate the reserving and financial reporting processes within the actuarial CoE and ensure appropriate transition of new processes into business as usual

  • Ensure that processes and standards are consistent with internal Zurich actuarial policies and guidance as well as existing regulations

  • Provide finance, other reserving actuaries, pricing, underwriting and claims with insights into underlying performance and implication for the business

  • Investigate on alternative data visualization and dashboards in collaboration with actuaries within Europe

Your Skills and Experience

As a Reserving Actuarial Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Master Degree in Data sciences, IT, Mathematics or related field.

  • Excellent data and programming skills. Experience with SAS and R will be a strong advantage. Experience with PowerBI and ResQ will be an advantage.

  • Understanding of actuarial reserving methods will be an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and conscious of deadlines.

  • Showing enthusiasm and having positive attitude.

  • Very good English skills.
