About the role
Are you ready for a new challenge? As Head of Group Regulatory Risk Management you support us in monitoring regulatory actions, sentiment and trends at the international level (Financial Stability Board, International Association of Insurance Supervisors) as well as in Switzerland. You represent Swiss Re towards leading Swiss and international public organizations and you promote Swiss Re's expertise with regulators and standard setters.
Together with your team of skilled experts you are accountable for:
identifying and assessing regulatory risk factors which could materially impact Swiss Re,
reporting on regulatory risks and mitigation efforts to senior management and impacted functions
developing strategies to directly or indirectly engage in the regulatory debate and influence regulatory debates.
handling all interactions with relevant regulatory authorities, specifically ensuring a professional relationship with FINMA and the Swiss State Secretariat of International Financial Matters
representing Swiss Re to key regulatory authorities and important trade associations such as the Geneva Association and the Swiss Insurance Association and at public forums
supporting the Head of Qualitative Risk Management in coordinating and aligning the policy positions taken by Regulatory Risk Management Teams across all regions to ensure that Regulatory Risk Management acts as one consistent and unified function
helping to define our strategic priorities and policy positions as well as engagement strategies for global regulatory topics
As Head of Group Regulatory Risk Management you lead a highly skilled team of three people.

About the team
At Swiss Re Regulatory Risk Management is responsible for assessing and mitigating the risks of regulatory changes that might affect our interest across all business. We play an important role as an early warning and risk mitigation function. We also carefully manage relationships with regulators.
You are part of the Group Qualitative Risk Management Leadership Team. Group Qualitative Risk Management is responsible for the risks that are not quantitatively modelled such as emerging, operational, regulatory, sustainability and information security risks. You have close interactions with the Emerging, Political and Sustainability Risk Management team as well as the wider Risk Management function, especially with the Heads of the Regional Regulatory Risk Management Teams, who have a dotted reporting line into the Head of Group Qualitative Risk Management.

About you

  • Master degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in financial services industry, regulation or supervision
  • Solid understanding of regulatory environment, the value proposition of reinsurance, corporate finance of insurance as well as risk management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in dealing with external partners
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing in both German and English
  • Ability to summarize complex issues concisely
  • Ability to present and communicate well to recipients of all levels
