Global Relationship Banker role covering a portfolio of leading Switzerland Headquartered global multinational corporates. Main responsibilities include acting as main point of contact for clients and managing relationship and product teams across the world to provide ensuring strategic and business objectives are achieved, in particular with reference to ‘event-driven’ or major ‘significant flow’ client activities in the relevant sector and/or region, originating value added business.

 

In this role you will:

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Liaise with members of the global client service teams, ensuring a coordinated approach to enhancing the client relationship
  • Engage with relevant product teams including DCM, ECM, M&A, LAF, GLCM, GTRF, Markets, AMG etc to ensure coordinated approach towards achieving relationship development objectives
  • Develop and maintain ‘trusted advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned current and target clients
  • Work to reposition the firm to higher value added solicitation, enhancing the perception of the Bank amongst its existing and prospective clients

 

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Collaborate with and lead others across GBM to achieve the overall goal of the bank
  • Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and perform to the highest standards
  • Take an active role in initiatives outside of own role; proactively seeking different assignments to accelerate learning
  • Establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Understand and ensure compliance with, all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience
  • Track record of building & developing relationships at key decision maker Level  
  • Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with sophisticated GB clients 
  • Industry expertise in corporate sector
  • Proven record of managing a portfolio of Swiss clients
  • Understanding of HSBC Group and products and a strong network of contacts across all business areas and regions
  • Understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
  • Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services
  • Strong business development, financial analysis and analytical skills
  • Strong team player and demonstrate a high level of attention to details, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and willingness to be a driven self-starter
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory evolutions 
  • Ability to develop good working partnerships with credit, client’s management and product teams 
  • Ability to establish rapport with appropriate members of client’s management team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
