Credit Risk Review Regional Head - Switzerland

We Offer
  • A challenging senior leadership role in the Global Credit Risk Review (CRR) function which is an independent Line of Defense behind the credit risk organization and front office, reports to the Group Board of Directors Risk Committee and also functions as a liaison between internal partners and constituents, the Board, and the various regulatory agencies
  • The opportunity to work with an experienced and global CRR team which is responsible for providing an independent assessment of the credit quality of the Credit Suisse credit portfolio (secured and unsecured loans / financing, derivatives, etc.)
  • Manage and represent the Credit Risk Review function in Switzerland and report to Global Head CRR
  • Responsibility of the team management and training of experienced personnel from inside and outside of Credit Suisse
  • Role to review loan underwriting practices including CS Credit Ratings (Obligor, Transaction and Regulatory Rating, where required) and adherence to relevant policies and to identify credit exposures with potential weakness and any relevant trends that may affect collectability
  • Responsibility for the design and implementation of the CRR Target Operating Model and the reporting framework to communicate findings and recommendations to senior business and functional leaders in Switzerland as well as reporting to the Switzerland Legal Entity Board of Directors Risk Committee
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders across all three Lines of Defense like all Business Lines and Credit Risk Management in Swiss Universal Bank (SUB) and International Wealth Management (IWM), the Portfolio Management Group, Model Risk Management and Internal Audit Division
  • Responsibility for ensuring the credit portfolio of SUB and IWM division has been appropriately covered and reviewed and potential weaknesses at the borrower and/or portfolio level have been reported and an appropriate remediation plan is agreed to with the relevant stakeholders
  • Responsibility for evaluating activities of lending and transaction support personnel in the Private, Retail and Corporate Banking Business and Credit Risk, ensuring compliance with policies, approvals, monitoring and risk assessment

You Offer
  • 10+ years of senior experience in private and wholesale credit risk in an underwriting or credit adjudication capacity;
  • Experience with underwriting, assessing and approving nonstandard Lombard and / or Corporate transaction is critical;
  • Experience in leading large teams as well as strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Strong negotiation, oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to accept accountability, assume leadership and demonstrate initiative;
  • Fluency in English and any German language skills would be useful
