Business Analyst
ESG Business Analyst Grade 10 (for internal purposes) Location: Zurich, Switzerland
S&P Global's ESG Research team is looking for an ESG Business Analyst to support in the development and maintenance of technology tools and platforms used to collect, assess and report ESG data. S&P Global's Corporate Sustainability Assessment is an annual assessment of over 7,500 companies on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG factors). S&P Global maintains one of the oldest and most comprehensive databases of corporate sustainability information in the world. S&P Global's proprietary technology platform is used by over 1,400 of the world's largest companies to report advanced ESG data. The platform forms a core part of the S&P Global ESG research capabilities.
The Role :
- The Business Analyst documents business requirements and associated business processes in support of initiatives and projects.
- The position will work extensively with internal and external development resources in knowledge transfer of business requirements and insuring understanding of how those requirements are reflected in the application.
- This position acts as a key link between core business and technology teams
- The position will require acquiring hands on experience & in-depth understanding of core business processes related to the collection, processing and analysis of large volumes of sustainability information and S&P Global's proprietary technology platforms.
Responsibilities: - Gather/analyse/document business requirements leading to development and improvement of business solutions
- Support the establishment of new projects by facilitating workshops with business users.
- Producing mock-ups for projects
- Business acceptance testing of new functionalities and improvements
- Develop metrics for quantifying and measuring the value of business projects
- Supports in the scoping and planning of projects
- Produce and maintain training documentation and instruction manuals for users
- Provide innovative ideas for new solutions, functionality improvements to management
Qualifications: - 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in gathering and defining business requirements for technology teams
- Experience in agile workflows and methodologies
- Experience in project management and process optimization
- Requirements Management / Planning (Prioritization, Change Control)
- Stakeholder management and cross-functional communication
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL and data management
Preferred Qualifications : - Bachelor's in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of sustainable finance, corporate social responsibility, ESG research
- Strong personal interest in sustainability topics
- Knowledge of QlikSense and / or other BI software such as Tableau
- Hands-on experience with technologies in the field of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Natural Language Processing
- Other programming languages
