Egyptian Private Equity Analyst

Our client is a well-respected Private Equity Fund with various offices in Africa but this position will be based in Barcelona for a 2-3 year period. The successful candidate will then be permanently re-located to Cairo with the Fund. The private equity investment process requires both the financial skills of investment banking, ideally in M&A, or supporting these deals working within the Transaction Services of a major accountancy/advisory firm, or possibly the strategic thinking of management consulting.

This Analyst position is ONLY open to Egyptians, or possibly candidates who can demonstrate a solid desire/reason to be based in Cairo eventually. 

Background, Education and Skills sought
• No previous private equity experience is required, although some would be considered as a positive
• Ideally graduated from a reputable business school or engineering school.
• Ideally two years investment banking or Big4 transaction support/services experience, CERTAINLY NO MORE THAN THREE YEARS excluding internships.
• Solid experience of constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, comparable company, comparable transactions and other intangible asset models
• Good knowledge of software packages including MS Word and MS PowerPoint
• Advanced Excel skills and strong modelling and financial valuation skills
• Strong organizational and quantitative skills
• High attention to detail
• Developed problem solving skills
• A willingness to continue to learn and ask sensible questions, and to demonstrate a thoughtful business curiosity.  This is key.

The Role itself
• Providing support to more experienced team members
• Financial modelling and analysis
• Market research
• Involved in some external meetings
• Post investment monitoring of management accounts
• Analysis and execution of investment strategies
• Develop flexible financial models and perform ad hoc financial forecasting, analyses and modelling
• Develop, conduct and coordinate financial analyses, reports and presentations to facilitate making important business decisions
• Conduct financial and business (e.g. industry analysis, competitive position, growth prospects) diligence and evaluate new product development and acquisitions. Performing valuations on a wide range of industry sectors across the North African business world. Experience in other regions also important for this task / role
• Provide analytical support for debt and equity transactions
• With time, participate in strategic planning and budget processes
• Contributing to the design and enhancement of the financial models used to perform valuations and portfolio monitoring
• Working with management to maintain good portfolio company relationships

Languages

A native Arabic speaker, written and verbal fluency in English essential.  Spanish or French language skills useful but not required. 

Education

A good degree in Economics, Commerce, Maths or Engineering preferred.

Completion of CFA Level 1 would be a strong advantage.
