We are looking for a dynamic and team-orientated individual to join our compliance team and provide guidance and direction to the business. Prior interaction with MAS is crucial in order to maintain and develop the working relationship. As a regulatory expert, you will provide guidance to various departments on Compliance matters. You will be the key point of contact with internal and external auditors and regulators, ensuring all requirements are met and remediation efforts are completed well before deadlines. This role requires you to communicate with various stakeholders and senior management. You should have an excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • Oversight of Compliance framework
  • Oversight and responsible for effective and consistent AML/CFT and Compliance practices to comply with requirements of Legislations, Regulations, Notices and Guidelines
  • Maintain communication with regulators and initiate proactive steps to keep compliance in AML/CFT framework aligned to evolving best standards in the industry
  • Review new products/ services, new business initiatives and licensing requirements
  • Provide responsive, sound, coherent and consistent compliance advice, interpretation and recommendations on regulations, policies, products and business initiatives; clarify and resolve uncertainties in rules and regulations affecting business transactions and practices
  • Liaise and resolve with regulators any regulatory concerns, and co-ordinate regulatory inspections
  • Establish, review and update internal rules, policies and guidelines to meet best practice regulatory and industry standards
  • Initiate/ undertake work improvement project as assigned


  • Degree or professional qualification in accounting, business, law or related field
  • Proven experience in compliance or regulatory work in the financial services industry, preferably focusing on corporate and retail banking, with at least 6 to 8 years of experience with a local regulator
  • Familiarity with Banking Act, Financial Advisers Act and Securities & Futures Act
  • Good understanding of financial products and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to drive/ manage work improvement project and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
