VP, Operations Analyst, GTO

The Operations Analyst role is a permanent position responsible for the assessment of automation needs and their execution to automate manual repeatable tasks within the department. The role is under the prerogative of the Regional Data Centre Operation (RDCO) division belonging to Group Technology and Operations Shared Infrastructure Services (SIS) function. Its primary responsibilities include the following:
  • Assess departmental automation needs and identify solutions to eliminate repetitive tasks and manual interventions.
  • Perform technical evaluation and analysis of existing and new systems and assess their potentials for automation.
  • Identify, analyse, and recommend methods of problem resolution for the department and develop technical documentation for staff and management reference.
  • Perform management of vendors setting standards and streamlining processes to facilitate smooth implementation of automation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain existing scripts and programs to automate Output Management, Control-M, and computer operations processes,
  • Provide insights to continually improve the end to end infrastructure design and process flow of the systems supported by RDCO (e.g. R2W, Control-M, etc)
  • Perform trouble shooting and problem determination on Output and Scheduling (Control-M) related problems and issues pertaining (but not limited) to administration and support.
  • Perform project management role and/or participate in projects and initiatives requiring/involving Output Management.
  • Perform outsourcing review and due diligence on new and/or existing printing/enveloping vendors and identify automation opportunities and plan and execute them until completion.
  • Participate in audit and compliance review.
Qualification and Experience
  • At least 10 years experience working in a bank Data Centre Operations environment preferably in the area of process and system automation.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of network and Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms necessary in troubleshooting issues related to RDCO supported systems (e.g. R2W, Control-M, Remedy, etc).
  • Competent in resolving technical and access related issues in network and Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments.
  • Knowledgeable on Windows infrastructure and other technologies (Active Directory (AD), Domain Name Servers (DNS), MS Clustering, Virtual Machine (VM), MS SQL)
  • Knowledgeable in Tomcat and Internet Information Services (IIS) application and web server components.
  • Knowledgeable in Windows/Unix programming/scripting.
  • Knowledgeable in the Microsoft suite of products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Knowledgeable in Control-M scheduling tool.
  • Knowledge in Visual Basic, Power Shell, C# and Java programming is a big advantage.
  • Knowledge in R2W and RPM systems is a big advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to discuss/document technical information.
  • Adopts an innovative and proactive mind set to work assignments.
  • Organized and detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask with propensity to handle urgent interruptions.
