VP, CBG Credit - Regional Credit Portfolio Management, Risk Management Group
Business Function
Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.
This is a role in Consumer Banking Group ("CBG") Regional Credit Risk team, supporting Head, CBG Credit - Regional Governance, Credit Risk & Portfolio Management to drive key strategic business priorities pertaining to consumer credit risk portfolio management (horizontally with CBG Business) and provide effective challenge to locations on Existing Customer Management ("ECM") for all lending products to achieve robust consumer credit risk management capabilities, scalable operating effectiveness and quality business growth. In addition, the candidate will provide credit oversight on regulatory and non-regulatory stress testing (non-Advanced Internal Rating-Based approach).

Strategic Consumer Credit Risk Management (For All Consumer Lending Products)
  • Drive business initiatives/projects and new technologies/ecosystem partnerships related to credit Portfolio Management / Existing Customer Management ("ECM") at regional level and across locations/markets.
  • Advocate horizontal organisation by working with other regional function heads (Senior Credit Officer providing country/product oversight, Governance, Policy, Acquisition & Credit Initiation, Collection), tribes, squads and chapters (including CBG Business, Operations and Technology) to build effective collaboration and implementation of business and functional objectives for existing lending portfolio.
  • Collaborate with other Risk Management Group ("RMG") units, Technology and CBG Business to drive cohesive innovation / digital capabilities and deliver new credit value propositions across locations/markets for existing lending portfolio.
Regional Portfolio Management Oversight
  • Set and drive heightened standards on consumer credit lending (specifically on Portfolio Management), in line with best practices in the industry, including analytics and data-driven approach.
  • Establish relevant playbooks and risk appetite to promote consistency of quality standards in risk governance and assessment pertaining to Portfolio Management.
  • Participate actively in regular portfolio performance reviews with local/regional Credit, Fraud, Group Portfolio Analytics and Business stakeholders, to reinforce strategic priorities, pollinate good practices and share learnings across locations.
  • Manage consumer credit risk portfolio management analytics and capabilities to support effective regional oversight across locations.
  • Identify and escalate potential risk of portfolio through analysis of key credit risk indicators.
Consumer Credit - Regulatory and Non-regulatory Stress Testing (non-AIRB)
  • Manage regulatory and non-regulatory stress testing - non- Advanced Internal Rating-Based ("non-AIRB") approach from credit risk perspective e.g. Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process ("ICAAP"), Industry-Wide Stress Test ("IWST") and ensure adherence to regulatory reporting standards e.g. Basel Committee on Banking Supervision's standard number 239 ("BCBS239") across the region.
  • Support Basel model management on capital optimisation initiatives for CBG Regional Credit.

  • The candidate should have at least minimum 10 years of proven experience in consumer credit risk management (in portfolio management / ECM and data analytics).
  • Candidate should preferably have handled regulatory & non-regulatory stress testing and has good knowledge of Basel requirements.
  • Excellent influencing skills with a collaborative nature
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage conflict/complex situations (including making tough decisions)
  • Data Analytics - Drawing & formulating insights from data. Data driven mindset
