Business Function

Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key support role as the team strives towards transforming risk management, moving from the traditional role of building & monitoring risk metrics to a more data-driven risk decision-making process
  • Be accountable for the successful delivery of data analytics projects that enable the transformation of T&O Risk Management in using data and analytics for risk management
  • Play an enabler role in helping key T&O stakeholders consume analytics, via distilling complex risk issues into simple and easy-to-understand key messages using data visualisation to enhance understanding of risk themes and trends
  • Identification and establishment of key decision support tools (including approaches, methodologies) to enable T&O stakeholders to make risk decisions, or take risk mitigation or reduction actions under uncertainty using data
  • Drive and manage strategic Group T&O risk analytics projects, via:
  • Clear identification & definition of the ‘job to be done’
  • Co-ordination with key stakeholders and technology teams for the successful roll-out of key risk analytics solutions in Group T&O
  • Key success measures include:
    • Ability to derive new risk insights from various data sources that leads to the overall improvement in control environment (e.g. error reduction)
    • Establishment of new/improved monitoring mechanism and risk oversight on significant key risk areas
Requirements
  • Degree holder in Business, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 6-10 years of working experience with at least 2 years of experience in data science projects
  • Basic proficiency in data manipulation and analysis
  • Good data visualisation skills, with the ability to present analysis & insights in a manner that is simple and easy-to-understand by non-statisticians through data visualisation techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group, including senior T&O stakeholders and Risk subject matter experts
  • Independent self-starter with demonstrable ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and tackle problems with a ‘can-do’ attitude
