VP/AVP, Team Lead - Group Business Continuity Management, COO Operations, Technology & Operation
Business Function
Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
About the role
The incumbent will manage the business continuity programme for DBS Group to ensure effective business continuity planning by business units for continuing essential business operations in the event of a disaster/crisis.
Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain Group BCM policies and standards to establish a sound BCM programme in line with guidelines established by regulators, BCM advisory bodies and other sources of best practices
  • Oversee the implementation of BCM policies and standards and monitor BCM readiness of DBS Group with regular status reporting to senior management
  • Plan and lead in the co-ordination of Group-wide BCP initiatives to raise the overall business continuity readiness of the Bank
  • Develop and implement BCP program initiatives to strengthen emergency response, crisis management and business resilience capabilities of DBS Singapore and ROW Branches
  • Establish and manage the Crisis Command Centre to provide the Crisis Management Committee with an effective means of co-ordinating resources and communications in a disaster
  • Develop and revise group policies and standards to ensure their relevancy and alignment with regulator and leading BCM organization guidelines
  • Produce regular DBS Group BCM readiness status reports to Senior Management providing in-depth analysis of risk issues and recommendations
  • Lead and co-ordinate BCP efforts at group level to develop effective group BCP recovery and response strategies
  • Lead in the co-ordination and conduct of organization-wide BCP exercises to integrate and validate the effectiveness of business units' incident response and recovery capabilities, focusing on simulating worst-case scenarios having enterprise-wide impact
  • Lead in the planning and execution of other BCM initiatives, co-ordinating with internal and external parties where necessary
  • Develop and execute training and awareness activities to raise BCM competency of DBS Group staff
  • Lead in maintaining operational readiness of the Crisis Command Centre and conduct regular simulation exercises to validate the level of readiness
  • Lead in the co-ordination of internal and external emergency response and crisis management groups as well as maintaining and testing corporate-level emergency response and crisis management procedures
  • Lead and execute organization-wide BCM Attestation program, including co-ordination and consolidation efforts, providing a view of enterprise business continuity readiness to Senior Management
  • Minimum 5-8 years of practical BCP experience with working knowledge of the Bank's key functional processes and resources
  • Experience with data analytics, especially using data to quickly identify issues and propose solutions
  • Good people skills with ability to relate to people at all levels
  • IT development/programming skills, preferably in VBA scripting
  • Adaptability/Flexibility to respond to changes and incidents
  • Drive and passion to take on new challenges and innovative ways to transform BCM
