VP/AVP Internal Communications, Group Strategic Marketing & Comms

Business Function

Group Strategic Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing and research to differentiate - and elevate - our brand from the rest of the competition.

Job Purpose

Enhance the DBS reputation and engender organisational pride among employees through the development and implementation of effective internal communication strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conceptualise, develop and deliver on internal communication strategies to deepen employee engagement
  • Effectively influence teams across the bank to create a common framework and integrate communication plans, to deliver consistent messages to employees
  • Develop clear metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness


Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver communication strategies to make "Live more, bank less" more tangible to employees. This includes communicating our sustainability efforts in the wider context of the strategy and brand
  • Create fresh ways of communicating (across content, channels and experiences) to deepen employee engagement
  • Work with relevant teams to write, edit, storyboard and create engaging content (including multimedia content such as videos and infographics) that is relevant, personalised and targeted for employees
  • Champion the employee point of view; develop guidelines, promote good discipline and share best practice across the bank to deliver effective internal communications
  • Be able to effectively influence teams across business units and support units to integrate communication plans and deliver consistent messages to employees
  • Partner with the Technology & Operations team to co-create an ecosystem of channels/platforms (including a new intranet) and provide a superior user experience
  • Develop clear metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness of campaigns to further strengthen engagement


Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with preferably 10 years working in a marketing and communications role, including internal communications
  • Experience in digital and social media space
  • Excellent communicator (verbal/written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, build consensus and work across teams to deliver results
  • Experience developing and delivering successful communication strategies
  • Experience developing effective digital and social media campaigns, with a strong understanding of trends in the digital landscape
  • Ability to connect-the-dots, develop new ideas, approaches and solutions
  • Metrics driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task projects, priorities, schedules, and deliverables
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; a good team player; and thrives in a fast-paced environment
