Our client is a leading global quantitative trading firm looking to hire a Trading Operations Analyst to support and supervise their automated trading strategies out of Singapore.
The role sits within one of the firm's trading teams rather than a central back office function, working alongside quantitative traders and software developers to monitor live production trading, troubleshoot issues as they arise and build Python tooling around the trading system. It would suit someone with two to three years in trade monitoring or trade support who wants to move closer to the trading desk and take on more technical ownership over time.
Responsibilities for the Trading Operations Analyst:
- Partner with traders and technologists on the day to day running of live algorithmic strategies
- Oversee live order flow for exposure and control breaches, reacting promptly when behaviour deviates from expectation
- Investigate and clear problems arising from daily execution activity
- Write scripts and small applications that reduce manual intervention across the platform
- Interrogate executed flow and pricing data, and put forward suggestions to sharpen performance
- Cover the desk on an early schedule from 7AM Singapore Time in line with the markets traded
Requirements for the Trading Operations Analyst:
- 2-3 years spent overseeing live flow, on a desk, or in an execution support capacity
- Comfortable interrogating execution data, working through problems methodically and reaching a defensible conclusion
- Familiarity with listed derivatives, covering instruments, exchanges, how those markets function and exposure control
- Familiarity with how electronic execution platforms are built and run, including UNIX or Linux and alerting tooling
- Working knowledge of Python applied to existing systems and process improvement
- Willingness to take ownership of demanding work and grow into a broader remit
- Degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics
