Strategy, Strategic Alliances & FinTech - Group Channels & Digitalization - AVP/VP1

You will be part of the Strategy & Projects Team responsible for helping to craft UOB's strategy for banking in the digital world and in supporting Group Channels and Digitalisation leadership in business support matters, focusing on building ecosystem partnership to augment UOB's franchise, through investments into FinTech and Digital Platforms. This role will also support the Strategic Alliances & FinTech team in research and own the central knowledge databases for FinTech ecosystem players.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Projects Team •Engage the FinTech and Venture Capitalist Investor community to understand their perspectives, trends that are affecting the financial services industry and the funding life cycle e.g. ICOs.
•Be familiar with ever-changing regulations around bank investments and the ability of various FinTech domains to operate in the countries that UOB operates in e.g. cryptocurrency providers, P2P lenders, e-wallets and crowdfunding.
•Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders for due diligence and assessment of FinTech and Digital Platform investment opportunities.
•Execute investment deals, including seeking necessary management approvals follow-up with sponsor business units on related ecosystem partnerships.

Strategic Alliances & FinTech Team •Prepare research decks at short notice for FinTech initiatives.
•Track and provide status updates of investments and involvement with ecosystem partners, and be responsible for the central knowledge database of FinTech ecosystem players.

•Degree holder and minimum 5 years working experience.
•Ability to analyse term sheets, financial statements and pitch decks in order to make astute investment recommendations that will benefit UOB Group as a whole.
•"Can-do" and "want-to" work ethic, demonstrated by openness to change, hunger to learn and understand the "whys" and discipline to see projects to successful completion.
•Character maturity, a logical thought-process and attention to detail.
•Good verbal and writing skills - summarising and articulating complex issues in a simple manner.
