Currently, we have client offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur.
What you will do
This business development role will be responsible for raising the profile of Northern Trust in the target market above and generating sales. The role is strategic and commercially critical and the successful sales person will be happy to achieve a target of $ 1mn in sales annually if not more.
The role has two components - sales and marketing and the responsibilities include
Sales :
o Presenting the bank's full range of multi- product asset servicing capabilities - including global custody, fund servicing, Fiduciary, technology solutions, Risk & Performance and associated x sell services
o Liaising closely with Northern Trust Asset Management to develop mutual opportunities
o Identifying and building a pipeline of significant prospect opportunities with primary focus being applied to profitable sales opportunities with annualised income of greater than $100k per annum
o Creating and leading deal teams to work on complex and sometimes multi-faceted technical and relationship-orientated sales
o Working closely with senior management, local relationship management, operational and product teams throughout each prospect sale
o Converting prospects into significant revenue generating clients
o Cross-selling the bank's other products, services and capabilities to prospective clients - including investment management, FX, brokerage and transition management
o Working closely with Product Development staff in the USA and UK servicing centres to co-ordinate the development and promotion of product lines and capabilities.
Marketing :
o Promoting the bank' capabilities as the 'industry expert' through round tables, conferences, media and hospitality events
o Writing or assisting in the writing of articles, editorials and product features about the bank's capabilities for investment managers
o Providing input and direction in respect of product-specific and strategic marketing materials
o Liaising with consultants, centres of influence and the investment community to promote the bank's name and products in the UK, Europe and Globally
o Networking through industry contacts and events
Your qualifications and skills
o Good examples of closing profitable mandates with annualised income in excess of $100k
o Experience gained in a senior sales position in family office sector
o Understanding of working within Global organisation
o Experience engaging at CXO level
o Knowledge of the APAC regulatory environment and issues facing estate planning and structuring
o In depth knowledge of Asset Servicing, Fiduciary and Investment product
o A technical understanding of on-shore and off-shore vehicle types
o People management experience both directly and indirectly
