Our client is a global bank with a solid foundation for significant growth and investment in Asia. They are looking for a dynamic and team-orientated individual to join their Singapore compliance team.

Principal responsibilities

  • Identify Regulatory Compliance risk change and potential impacts on business in Singapore
  • Review for appropriateness of framework to monitor regulatory compliance developments
  • Implement programmes to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes
  • Assist business to implement as required market product suitability, sales and staff remuneration policies and systems
  • Interact with Regulators and industry bodies in Singapore, on Regulatory Compliance matters 
  • Ensure the appropriate timely and relevant risk information is provided to management, Regulatory Oversight Committee
  • Ensure the Regulatory Compliance function in Singapore, is resourced to headcount plan, sufficient to meet the demands and opportunities of the business
  • Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with senior business managers at the Global and Country levels
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimise the likelihood of it occurring
  • Share best practice with group offices, other business lines and other regions

To succeed in this role you will require the following demonstrable skills and attributes:

  • Strong technical knowledge of regulatory compliance in financial services sector in Singapore
  • Strong leadership experience and a strategic thinker
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and inter personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels
  • Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex issues
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators
  • Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and data and provide succinct summary for management
  • Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred
  • Strong team player with the ability to lead changes
