The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Partnering with the business as part of the Finance departments goal to collectively support the evolution of the business through the deployment of quantitative analytics, methodology whilst ensuring the integrity of the control environment.

Processes
  • Design, implement and document Model Risk reserving:
  • Valuation uncertainty associated with different mathematical models for the same payoff;
Risk Management
Design, implement and document Model Risk reserving:
  • Valuation uncertainty associated with different mathematical models for the same payoff;
Design, implement and document Calibration Risk reserving:
  • Valuation differences associated with change in objective function or minimisation algorithm (e.g. local v global calibration routines)
  • Calibration to third party market data;
  • Calibration to third party structured prices;
Design, implement and document Implementation Risk reserving:
  • Examples include valuation differences associated with:
- changes to the number of Monte-Carlo paths;
- changes to the random number generator;
- switching to alternative implementations (e.g. changing from Monte-Carlo to a PDE implementation);
- PDE settings;
Governance
  • Responsible for the evolution and maintenance of the valuation model governance framework
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.


Our Ideal Candidate
  • Master in Financial Mathematics or a PhD in a quantitative area with over 8+ years of experience
  • Strong IT skills. Experience with functional programming is desirable, with practical experience in using Python.
  • Experience/ understanding of the application of machine learning and AI to practical issues.
