Scrum Master - Cybersecurity

The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm's cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group's number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable and resilient.

We are looking for multi-disciplined forward-looking technologists like you with diverse backgrounds and experiences including in areas such as cybersecurity, big data, machine learning risk management and controls, compliance and oversight, cloud security.

Role:

  • Support several technical teams across varying big-data Enterprise platforms.
  • Responsible for adhering to the Agile framework while coaching teams through the scrum process (80%). Occasional project management tasks (20%) [BA-related work]
  • Position reports to the responsible ADM

Responsibilities:
  • Organizing agile events using Scrum methodology -- facilitating daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, grooming (PBRs), release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings
  • Testing processes and development platforms for high-level IT Enterprise systems
  • Tracking and communicating team velocity and sprint/release progress
  • Assist technical team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
  • Collaborating with team, developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices, including working agreements, definition of ready and definition of done
  • Identifying and removing impediments and preventing distractions
  • Maintaining process documentation, reports and applicable dashboards in JIRA
  • Serving as an Agile coach within the organization, while implementing and socializing scrum to newly formed teams
  • Providing coaching and direction to new Scrum Masters
  • Organizing and facilitating team interactions with other departments and vendors who do not practice scrum to deliver products on time
  • Assisting with backlog maintenance (collaborating specifically with Product Owners), leading the team through long-term roadmap exercises, forecasting long-term project deliverables
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and broadcasting information, as needed
  • Project Planning, including development of a project plan
  • Documenting project scope, budget, schedule and organizational objectives
  • Facilitating and leading team meetings that are cross-functional in nature
  • Leading the project team through implementation of the solution
  • Managing vendor engagements, which may include facilitating selection processes, providing input into the Statement of Work, management of deliverables and vendor resources
  • Conducting project closure, and ensuring proper operationalization of effort
  • Acting as an ambassador of Technology & Architecture with Product Management, answering LOB-wide questions
  • Supporting the publishing of weekly summaries and other artifacts requested by leadership
Requirements:
  • Jira experience + other Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of Scrum Master experience
  • Expert level facilitation and communication skills: ability to facilitate teams through tough conversations and maintain a positive and supportive team environment
  • Ability to respond quickly, flexibly and positively to change, using it as an opportunity to learn, develop, practice and support the organization
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Ability to manage a budget within Excel
  • Excellent conceptual, analysis, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Capable of defining problems, collecting data, establishing fact, drawing conclusions and recommending solutions

  • SAFe certification
  • Advanced coaching skills within the Agile and Scrum frameworks
