Responsibilities
The role will be accountable for delivering the DDOM (Data-driven Operating Model) priorities for Group Human Resources in DBS, including driving awareness and capability building for DDOM.
  • Drive implementation across the 3 pillars of DDOM for the Group Human Resources function
    • Identify Outcomes and Drivers
    • Build Analytics solutions
    • Sustain the changes including new business rituals.
  • Lead DDOM implementation. Identify learnings for future DDOM implementations and ensure these as sustainable, changed way of working.
    • Define analytical strategy, human capital problem statements and hypotheses to address identified opportunities, including analytical approaches, data and technology requirements
    • Develop and own the backlog of DDOM implementation for Group Human Resources function and work with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes
    • Align with Central DDOM Team for Group's direction and expectation for DDOM implementation and adoption
    • Guide and train team and stakeholders as required.
Proven ability to translate business problems into mathematical formulations. Familiar with data manipulation and analysis. Ability to approach data in creative ways and from different angles for use in driving measurable and meaningful business outcomes.
The individual will be required to work with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to achieve commitment and buy-in to implementation of these initiatives driven through data and analytics solutions.

Requirements
  • Masters or equivalent advanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, or equivalent quantitative fields preferred. Strong mathematical and statistics background.
  • 10+ years of experience in industry (ideally ecommerce, technology, consumer banking, telecoms, retail) and/or academia with demonstrated track record of innovative research and insight generation and implementation of insights into tools/processes delivering front end business results.
  • Several years of experience in analysing large volumes of location data for service improvement and/or sales opportunity.
  • At least 5 years of data mining and machine learning on large amount of data, building and implementing various statistical models.
  • Mathematical problem formulation skills
    • Deep understanding of mathematical techniques. An ability to translate business problems into mathematical formulations. Familiar with data manipulation and analysis. Ability to approach data in creative ways and from different angles for use in predictive and prescriptive modelling.
  • Human Capital or Consumer Products Analytics
    • Experience in building and operationalizing the analytical capability either in the area of human capital or consumer products to analyze large volumes of data for service improvement and/or opportunity detection.
  • Statistical Tool Skills
    • Programming experience in SAS (Base, Stats, Macro, EG, EM), R, Spark or other statistical software. Proficient in SQL and text mining.
  • Programming and Database skills
    • Familiarity with Hadoop, Java, Python, SQL, Hive, and Pig. Understanding of ETL (extract, transformation, loading) of data including tools like Informatica, MS SSIS, Teradata.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to craft C-level presentation materials
    • Ability to present analysis in a manner accessible by non-statisticians through data visualization techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a perceptive team player who can manage various levels of stakeholders with experience in getting things done through influencing without direct authority.
Note: Candidates with lesser experience may be considered for a lower level position.
