SVP/VP, Operational Risk Team Lead, Risk Management Group
Business Function
Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank's risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. To manage risk effectively and run a successful business, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Job Purpose
To facilitate the Board and senior management in driving an effective and efficient operational risk management programme across the DBS Group.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead the design and setting of RMG OR's regional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial budget, and monitor the performance regularly
  • Conceptualise and co-ordinate operational risk analyses and updates to internal stakeholders and external parties
  • Platform "2-in-a-box" Lead for the OR Agile tribe and Data Champion; lead the strategic initiatives of the enterprise operational risk management (Governance Risk & Compliance) platform and data/analytics initiatives
  • Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team to perform the following functions:
  • Develop and co-ordinate the unit's KPIs, budget and forecasts; track and report progress
  • Co-ordinate with units to prepare updates including internal business/risk reviews, regulator's meetings, questionnaires, etc.
  • Work with operational risk controllers regionally to perform analyses of operational risk data to generate insights for the Board and senior management
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders to understand business priorities/problems and translate them into data initiatives to enable the Operational Risk function to achieve its KPI deliverables and enhance identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of operational risks
  • ORM system: bridge between the module/product owners and data scientists/technology partners to oversee enhancement requests and user/production support using Agile methodology
  • Requirements
    • 10 years of working experience in banks or financial institutions
    • Experience in first, second or third line of defence and familiar with operational risk management concepts and tools
    • University degree or equivalent, with major study in finance, accountancy, business administration, data

    Technical Competencies
    • Good knowledge of banking products, activities and operations
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with affinity to using data to solve problems
    • Analytical and able to identify key themes and trends from data and information
