Risk Specialist - Credit Monitoring (6 months contract)

Job Attributes

  • Daily monitoring of credit / regulatory violations (shortfalls, limit excesses, including unauthorized violations) for Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres; follow up with Front Office till resolution
  • Ensure that credit violations are escalated in a timely manner to the right parties
  • Maintain accurate records of margin exceptions approved and ensure timely follow up when due for renewals. Review list with credit approvers on a regular basis to ensure that limits are utilised appropriately
  • Prepare and issue margin call, demand and/or ad-hoc credit letters
  • Daily monitoring of the bank's counterparty limits and exposures; ensure that breaches are escalated to counterparty risk manager timely and assist with trade investigation
  • Monitor and track post drawdown conditions, ensuring appropriate escalations are effected timely
  • Review conditions and recommend monitoring mechanisms in order to mitigate risks highlighted by credit approvers
  • Provide input so as to create meaningful MIS reports to senior management
  • Review and calculate portfolio transfer requests and redemption requests. Be the escalation point to resolve issues between various counterparties
  • Perform and authorise data inputs in various auxiliary credit systems
  • Prepare internal and regulatory reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Regular review of and update of procedures and guides so as to adhere to current processes
  • Be an escalation point to the team and provide effective support for queries from Front Office
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders (Operations, Legal, Products, etc) to understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations
  • Participate and contribute to the firm-wide initiatives on re-engineering risk management and improvements on reporting analytics and processes


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Preferably graduate degree in banking/finance but not absolutely necessary provided candidate has the relevant experience
  • Candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in a monitoring function
  • Candidates with experience in counterparty limit monitoring is an advantage
  • Experience in private banking credit monitoring is an advantage
  • Understand the credit end-to-end life cycle
  • Demonstrate interest in the financial markets and good understanding of risk and control concepts
  • Able to prioritise, organize and work independently
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to accept new assignment and challenges in a rapidly changing environment
  • Detail oriented, ability to deep dive on processes and improve controls and/or efficiencies
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications is a pre-requisite
