This role encompasses the detailed analysis, planning and implementation of strategic trade capture technology solution to the regional FX businesses. Our client is one of the world's largest broker dealers with their Asian HQ based in Singapore. They operate a hybrid model where brokers provide business-critical intelligence to clients. It’s supplemented by proprietary screens for historical data, analytics and execution functionality.
  • Subject matter expert for the FX Dealer management system (DMS) platform and point of escalation for technical, operational or transaction usage enquiries
  • Initiate, document and manage to successful implementation any regional system modification or enhancement requests
  • Project Management of all new or altering Desk arrangements which utilise or are transitioning to the DMS platform
  • Ensure that all necessary system configuration and static data components are completed in a timely manner and ready for operation
  • Out of hours cover may be required from time to time to accommodate timely upgrade or release schedule. This may also include bank holiday coverage
  • Maintain up-to-date team technical documentation, team procedures and processes
  • Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements (e.g. cultural behaviours, security policies and regulatory requirements)
  • Complete any mandatory training by the required deadlines
  • Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out your duties

User Acceptance Testing

  • Review and execute UAT for new system functionality
  • Produce detailed UAT test scripts

Change Management

  • Document detailed change requests and defects of system functionality using management tools such as Jira - based on feedback from users either during UAT or production usage (small CR’s)

User training

  • Provide training for users of the system - Brokers, middle office and IT
  • Produce detailed user manuals and training guides
  • Produce detailed documentation on system functionality

Support Handover

  • Implement and document a process in order to hand the system over to the relevant support teams in each region
  • Provide early life support of the new system for a planned period before handing over to support
  • Produce detailed support handover documents
  • Practice support handover processes as prescribed by the DMS and OPS management teams

Internal application on-boarding

  • Oversee the on boarding (rollout) of the system to various broking desks
  • Co-ordinate the set-up, configuration and implementation of required reference data for each desk being on boarded
  • In conjunction with Middle office users and support teams, facilitate the parallel run as part of the go live implementation, migration from legacy systems

Communication

  • Communicate the current status of the rollout schedule to the project and programme managers
  • Highlight and communicate issues that may introduce risk to the project schedule
  • Form a close working relationship with support teams
  • Work closely with the development project team to receive prioritisation and schedule updates
  • Work with QA test teams to ensure desired application behaviour is being tested sufficiently
  • Communicate and track small application requests to users of the system

Client Relationship Management

o   Maintain a good working relationship with the client base and provider direction as required. This includes external clients (Banks) and all levels of internal staff.

Risk Responsibilities

Ensure that you understand the risks and controls on your department; what could go wrong, what controls you have to prevent/detect or contain these. 

 

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience:   

  • Demonstrable technical experience with messaging partners such as MarkitSERV, Thomson Reuters (TRTN), Clearing houses and Reporting repositories
  • Securities Exchange and/or Clearing House processes
  • Previous experience providing technical support to Middle/Back Office operation functions in a financial institution

 

Technical Skills:          

  • Solid IT Development, Project Management or Business Analyst experience in a Financial Services environment
  • Prince2, PMP or CAPAM certification an advantage
  • Good track record of successful project delivery
  • Solid understanding of financial market products - FX products, FX Swaps, Forwards, NDF
  • Good Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) skills
  • RTNS understanding
