We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our architecture team within Retail, Private Bank and Wealth Management division, supporting the Head of Architecture in development, communication and execution of architecture services.

The purpose of the Architecture function is to help Retail, Private Bank and Wealth division to achieve its strategic priotiries through best in class use of enabling technologies. Our architecture team is accountable for architecting, designing and overseeing the delivery of products and services for our Retail and Private Banking clients such as Mobile Banking, Equities and FX Trading, Insurance, and 3rd party API partnerships.

As a Principal Architect, you'll help us keep sight of our business and technology strategy and playing a pivotal role in moving us towards an exciting future. You will seize the opportunity to help shape how we transform technology landscape supporting our business.

You will be considered an expert in being able to elicit and interpret business strategy into an executable roadmap with defined target states where relevant. In doing this, you will utilise a range of architecture models, frameworks and tools to ensure a consistent and robust approach to delivering architecture services.

As we invest in new technology and capabilities, you'll help us ensuring each development aligns with our overall technology strategy. This includes putting together and maintaining target state architecture and roadmap across PRBWM, and key platforms/services/applications within assigned domains. You'll also be setting boundaries to resolve gaps, taking into account short, medium- and long-term outcomes, as well as considering business and technology trade-offs. You'll need to consider the financial side of things too, ensuring architecture deliverables are viable, and financially worthwhile.

You need to have hands on experience working in a mature agile environment; regularly used to influencing senior business and technology stakeholders; have broad architecture and technology expertise and a passion for coaching and leading high performing team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

In terms of the day to day you will be responsible for:

Target State - Define the technology target state for all things that interact with our Retail, Private and Wealth Management customers and the staff that support them whether it be with the API and digital channels through to how we integrate, use data effectively and master it in our core banking or other systems of record.
Initiative Shaping - For the assigned domains, translate business strategy into an executable roadmap utilizing a traceable capability assessment framework. Perform architecture impact assessment during the concept ideation and business case development to ensure minimum architecture requirements are considered and included in business case.
Architecture Practice - Contribute to development and management of architecture processes and practices including governance across all architecture disciplines.
Solution Architecture - Oversee and govern solution architecture services and artefacts within assigned domains and portfolios ensuring solutions are aligned with enterprise, business and technology direction.
Thinking Client - Able to guide the conversation with our business and delivery teams from ideation through to deployment in order to ensure a rich, effective experience for our clients.

Experience

To be successful in this role, we believe the below experience will make it easier for you but it is by no means mandatory:
Experience within a financial services institution with recent experience in shaping and architecting world class platforms
At least 5 years of experience in any Senior Architecture roles; i.e. Business Architect, Enterprise Architect, Platform/Portfolio architect and/or large-scale transformation Program Architect roles
Experience with aligning business strategic planning with technology strategy planning
Deep expertise in at least one of the architecture disciplines such as application, data, security, infrastructure, cloud, API/Integration.
Demonstrated experience in any Business/Enterprise Architecture framework
Communicating and influencing across organisational contexts and driving long term behavioural change
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and guidance
Experience leading a small team of architects (5 or more)
Hands on experience working in mature agile environments and delivering outcomes iteratively focused on value to the customer
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of industry and technology trends
Evidence of continual improvement and investment into you (i.e. training, education, secondments into new areas)
