O&T Business Manager
Reporting to the Head of O&T Business Management and Governance, the incumbent will provide a dual-hatted support function, acting as the Technology Business Manager, as well as supporting Head of O&T on selected set of initiatives and senior management / C-level meetings.
He/ she will work hand in hand with internal O&T stakeholders such as the Head of O&T, Head of Departments, Project Portfolio Managers, and stakeholders from across Businesses and other Supporting Functions (such as CEO Office, COO Office, HR, Finance, Legal, Risk and Control, ORM and Compliance, etc.).
The candidate must have track record of operating as a Business Manager and/ or in a COO Office of the Operations and Technology organization, with hands-on experience in the areas of Financial Management, Workforce Management, Procurement Operations (including Sourcing), Process and Governance, Management Reportings, C-Level presentations preparations, and more importantly, Strategy and Planning activities.
As this is a senior position, he/she is expected to build strong working relationships and partnerships with members of the Business Management team, the wider O&T functions and other supporting Business functions, to effectively provide timely response to management's requests.
Details of the functional areas this role is accountable for and directly works on include:
  1. Financial Management:
  • Oversight of Technology Cost Management Initiatives
  • Divisional Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Coordinate annual budgeting cycle (Operating Planning)
  • Work with O&T Fincon and Project Office in tracking project financials and provide Bank level Project Investments and Capex expenditure spending monitoring and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Track and Manage Division KPIs & OKRs
  1. People/Workforce Management:
Headcount, Resourcing and Talent Development:
  • Headcount management and reporting, working with Workforce Management and HRBP
  • Support HODs in Talent Gap Identification and Remediation
  • Partner HR and Human Capital teams, in Talent Development and Retention
  • External resources vendor management
  • Partner other Technology functions to promote and track Process & Controls adherence
  • Office Space Planning / restack coordination
Communication and Staff Engagement - partner O&T Human Capital team on:
  • Management of Technology Branding (both internal and external facing)
  • Divisional Communications including Social Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), External Media Articles
  • Staff Engagement Initiatives / Employee Value Proposition Initiatives
  • Townhalls, Village halls, Skip Level Meetings
  • Employee Survey Action Plan Tracking
  1. O&T Management Support:
  • Track and support Division Strategic Initiatives and Work Plan
  • Serve as the O&T Departmental Secretariat for various O&T Management level meetings/ forums
  • Provide C-level meeting preparation support for O&T Management team
  1. Procurement Operations
  • Provide Management support working with Procurement Operations and Sourcing function, to facilitate BOS CTB initiatives/ Project Portfolios
  1. Other Departmental Support and Governance Functions
  • COVID-19 Pandemic Support and Governance for Technology department
  • Technology Solutioning PMO support - manage/ guide the function that provide Project Management Support to the Technology Business Solutions department

  1. 12+ years of O&T Management experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry, with in depth understanding of the functions of O&T domains
  2. 5+ years financial P&L ownership, 5+ years executive communication and governance experience
  3. Strong collaborative skills and proven ability in building relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
  4. Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills, experience in interfacing with Senior Management and technical support teams alike
  5. Able to thrive in fast-paced environment, and able to adapt to the rapidly changing priorities and demand from senior managements
  6. Good analytical skills, positive attitude, and good learning ability with great attention to detail, and ability to multitask
  7. Self-motivated, self-starter, and demonstrated ability working independently and under minimum supervision
  8. Comfortable challenging ideas and working with disparate groups to bring about consensus. Experienced negotiator and skilled in conflict resolution
  9. Prior experience in private banking domain preferred and a definite plus
  10. Project Management or PMO experience preferred
Note: The incumbent will be seconded to Bank of Singapore for assignments
