What you'll do
Working within our new Data Science & Ecosystem team, you will combine advanced analytics techniques with Banking, Partner & Open data sources to develop actionable insights & uncover new opportunities
Support strategic build projects to continuously enhance the capability of OCBC's analytical processes, people and big data platforms
Understand and solve identified business problems from curated datasets - including model development and production deployment
Develop data products for use within Ecosystem partner companies or the external market.

Build Data Science capability
Working alongside the existing analytics function, support the deployment of a dedicated Data Science team to enable advanced analytics use cases within the bank. This includes:

o Accelerate development of Data Science capability within OCBC - including up-skilling existing analytics staff, recruitment of new resources and partnering with the OCBC AI Lab
o Understand and solve identified strategic business problems from curated datasets - with a focus on customer & marketing analytics use cases
o Design analytical solutions and experiments
o Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, visualization and develop models
o Model validation and deployment preparation with IT & OCBC analytics team
o Be a thought-leader and drive innovation within the organisation


Work with External Partners to develop our data ecosystem
o Support the build work on OCBC's data eco-system to source & integrate additional 3rd party data into the OCBC Big Data Platform
o Assist in ideating and developing new data products from the combined data sources
o Build processes & platforms to enable contextual customer journeys underpinned by relevant data and insights from the combined datasets

Qualifications
What you bring

Programming & Data:
Minimum 5 years of working experience with advanced analytics, AI, ML, NLP or a related field
Ability to analyse, identify, visualize and describe key trends within large datasets
Experience in applying machine learning techniques and designing algorithms that are scalable and production-grade
Working experience with analytical tools and languages such as Spark, SAS ML or equivalents, Hadoop, Python, R, Natural Language Processing
Ideally, knowledge of Campaign Management (Unica / SAS /Adobe) or Direct Marketing experiment design concepts

Communication & Soft Skills:
Curiosity & a real passion for understanding "why?"
Clear communicator, with the ability to articulate ideas with data
Ability to mentor and train existing team in Data Science techniques
Experience with operating in a corporate environment and stakeholder management
Strong results driven personality with an innovative spirit
