The Innovation Analyst role sits within Schroders’ Cognitive Science and Automation (CSA) Group. The group is responsible for driving intelligent automation and innovation within Schroders. The group engages and collaborates with other business teams within Schroders such as compliance and risk, business consulting, data and insights, and Global Technology to identify, prioritise and automate business processes. Once automated, the group is responsible for the ongoing support and optimisation of the digital workforce.

Overview of role

This is a 1-year contract position with excellent learning opportunities!

The Innovation Analyst works closely with the Innovation Lead and the Business to scope and deliver innovative technological solutions end-to-end. This CSA resource should ideally have a wide range of experience across various technology skillset (e.g. python, Java, C#, git, SQL/NoSQL), platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), with exposure to system design/architecture to:

  • Understand user requirements and develop/configure and implement technological solutions
  • Design, build, test, and implement process automation using latest toolsets
  • Deliver software programmes, perform quality testing and necessary technical support upon application launch
  • Investigate defects, suggest solutions and rectify problems
  • Assist with application training for users

 

Essential Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of programming, including scripting/coding, e.g. .NET (C#) and .NET framework application development, Python, VBS, JavaScript, SQL
  • Understand the overall innovation process and the role technology play in it
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team structure, but also independently
  • Ability to meet agreed deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Professional experience in programming, including scripting/coding, e.g. .NET (C#) and .NET framework application development, JS, VBS,  JavaScript, HTML, SQL, Python
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Professional experience in an application development role
  • Basic understanding of Lean and Agile principles, frameworks and tools, and the ability to apply these principles in business environment
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking; carry out objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to inform decision making
