The role is a Middle Office role under IBMO Commodities team in Singapore and will focus on supporting the Commodities business with an emphasis on Flows and Structured Trade Validation, End-Of-Day batch support, desk support, and controls.

IB Operations

Global Markets Operations is the engine responsible for ensuring the execution and servicing of all products and services.  Our core objective is to deliver service excellence by executing our processes in the safest and most efficient way, leveraging automation and 'Lean' approaches to achieve this.  Some of the core processes that we deliver include Post Trade Services, FX Operations, Collateral & Liquidity operations.

This position sits within IBMO under Global Markets Operations. The team is the primary control for all transactional data quality, with specific focus on end-of-day validation and completeness checks across Barclays Investment Bank Markets prior to overnight batch processes.

Overall purpose of role:

The role is a Middle Office role under IBMO Commodities team in Singapore and will focus on supporting the Commodities business with an emphasis on Flows and Structured Trade Validation, End-Of-Day batch support, desk support, and controls.

The Commodities IB MO team cover Flow and the Exotics/Structured Commodities products. The team is responsible for ensuring transactional data quality on flows and exotics/structured trading activities remains high and well-controlled. The team acts as a first point of contact (central hub) for all the front-line issues regarding flow and exotics/structured bookings.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform independent trade validation of flows and complex exotics/structured trades following trade capture.
  • Monitor and manage exceptions in trade flow / trade representation.
  • Monitor and remediate all EOD batches for Commodities Portfolios to ensure completeness of daily PV and risks.
  • Deliver effective controls and services to upstream and downstream business functions.
  • Support project and new product/system/regulatory initiatives.

Technical Skills and Qualifications will include

o Essential:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Financial services experience.
  • High level understanding of 2-3 functions in the trade lifecycle.
  • Detailed knowledge of 1 function.
