About our client: A top 10 international private bank, well established in Asia.

JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for the mandate to define and manage the Bank’s transformation agenda in Asia and deliver change in key domains through the following:

 

• Timely assessment of the impact of environment changes and new (digital) trends to the bank and counsel the Bank’s management on innovation and digitalization topics and their implication on the Bank’s strategy in Asia

• Lead the design of the target business model and define an actionable, multi-year transformation roadmap for Asia

• Periodically review and prioritize business issues and needs

• Manage and deliver change projects in key strategic domains

• Support process redesign and engineering for efficiency, productivity and control and maintain the Bank’s process documentation

 

TEAM MANAGEMENT

 

The role leads a team of approx. 15 professionals and acts as the main partner for change projects for all business functions (i.e. Front Office, Products, CRO, CFO) as well as IT.

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

People Management

  • Plan human resources, identify recruiting needs and hiring strategy
  • Identify and develop internal talent
  • Manage team and individual performance
  • Create a motivating work environment
  • Foster continuous learning (on-the-job and by leveraging JB Academy)
  • Implement the “One COO” culture and the related core values

 

Client Management (internal & external)

  • Maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, i.e. Asia Function Heads
  • (Asia Management Committee Members), Group Heads, Head IT
  • Conduct periodic service reviews with key stakeholders
  • Represent the Bank in industry groups to exchange best practices on Business Transformation

 

Business Management

  • Manage and track the Asia project portfolio
  • Track IT budget for Region Asia and moderate cross-functional prioritization process
  • Lead business request process from initial idea to project request with defined scope, high-level
  • solution and budget estimates
  • Manage and deliver change projects end-to-end from analysis/requirements gathering to solution
  • design, testing, roll-out and change management

 

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to regulation, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure appropriate ethical and compliant behavior within the area of responsibility by clear
  • demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

 

 

The REQUIREMENTS

 

  • University degree
  • 10-15 years of working experience in financial services industry
  • Excellent understanding of the private banking value chain and products/services
  • Good understanding of business process design methodologies
  • Multi-year experience in managing large, complex projects and programs
  • Track record of digital transformation projects
  • Experience with Temenos product suite would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience of partnering with IT in Scrum model would be an advantage
  • Experience in M&A and post-merger management
