The Group Audit (GA) function has over 700 staff located in our four hub locations New York, London, Frankfurt, Singapore and 26 other countries.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance team is primarily responsible to implement a programme of quality assurance and improvement that covers all aspects of Group Audit (GA) activity and continuously monitors its effectiveness. It is independent and is in place to regularly assess GA's compliance with audit methodology (for consistency & quality), and to continuously identify areas of improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Execution of the GA Quality Assurance (QA) plan, including: leading and participating in QA reviews designed to assess the effectiveness of GA processes and compliance with GA methodology; liaising with senior members of the GA function to provide recommendations for improvement; documenting workpapers; and drafting reports with issues and agreed upon action plans.
  • Perform various kinds of review work, including ad-hoc reviews, draft QA reports and presentations for Group Audit (and ExCo), as required.
  • Support all activities in order to implement a sound programme of quality assurance and improvement, including QA planning, fieldwork, reporting and QA issue tracking.
  • Assist in monitoring for changes in regulation, legislation and auditing standards that impact the processes and responsibilities of GA.
  • Support GA's change programme and especially methodology-related improvement projects.
  • Closely interact with other teams in order to identify and promulgate best practices within GA
  • Interact effectively with all levels of GA, in particular, the Chief Auditor and Principal Audit Manager (PAM) community as well as work closely with other DB functions where required.

Key skills:
  • Professional credentials including degree level education and a relevant professional qualification e.g. Certified Internal Auditor or compliance related professional qualifications (CIA or CPA, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).
  • A proven track record in Internal Audit, a strategic thinker, creative and innovative, and a strong team player.
  • Strong interpersonal, intercultural, communication (oral and written), presentation and negotiation skills. Work background in other jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in working with data.
  • Profound experience in Internal Audit in a global financial institution; experience in a QA function and or Methodology / Training function is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of the global universal banking model, sound knowledge in a specific divisional or functional area and their associated risks.
  • Willingness to take on responsibility; ability to work under own initiative and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Experience in working with regulators.
  • Diplomatic but with the necessary tenacity to complete the task.
  • Pro-active with good project management and organizational skills.
  • Reliable and prepared to undertake international travel.
