Description

Background:
The FP&A function is primarily responsible for providing management information and analysis to senior management in Asia. This includes performance measurement, strategic presentations, monthly business reviews and country performance reporting, annual Budget & Forecasting and significant ad-hoc analyses.
The team interfaces closely with all businesses and functional areas in order to provide a complete perspective on franchise performance.
The role will support the Asia Consumer Banking O&T FP&A Lead and the Technology leadership team and will be a key interface to the Country Technology teams in Asia (incl EMEA), and Technology/Finance teams in NAM, Asia and Latam which are being serviced for software development efforts from Asia.
This individual will support the GCB O&T FPA Lead in working closely with other areas of Finance including GCB Regional FP&A, Global Technology Finance in NAM and will support preparation for key strategic sessions in accomplishing Asia GCB Technology business results.
The GCB Tech FP&A forms part of the overall Asia FP&A function which also comprises GCB, ICG, Global Functions, Corporate Operations and Technology and the core regional team.
Job Purpose:
  • Lead Financial Planning & Analysis to support two key stakeholders - a) Asia Consumer Technology and (b) Technology Service provider (GPD - Global Product Development ) that engages in software development from Asia for all of Citi worldwide
  • Assess and drive cost efficiencies in Asia GCB Technology through leading management information, analytics and metrics
  • Drive strategic initiatives in partnership with Technology  to improve  performance and enhanced productivity
  • Be the 'trusted advisor' to the Asia GCB O&T Finance Lead and Asia Technology Head . Drive  dialogue at all levels of the organization in order to support the achievement of key business and financial goals
  • Provide leadership and oversee Mumbai Technology FP&A CoE team
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive performance assessment of Asia Consumer Technology, providing insights into the performance and drivers through financial analysis and leading financial metrics
  • Provide insights into areas of underperformance and propose corrective actions
  • Drive strategic exercises for Asia Consumer Technology , working closely with Regional Technology Planning and Country Tech Heads, including preparation of strategic plans (annual budget exercise, quarterly forecast, 3-year strategic plans, etc.)
  • Drive FP&A reengineering efforts in partnership with the regional FP&A team
  • Partner with Asia Controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy of Technology expenses
  • Play an effective role in managing FP&A  demands arising out of the Technology billing tool i.e ITBM , from the standpoints of both Tech Service provider and Biz Customer
  • Go beyond number crunching  and effectively value-add by way of meaningful analysis via key financial drivers (eg., Tech labor rate , capacity volume, project spend analysis across relevant themes i.e. Digitization, Biz-discretionary, Tech mandatory, Legal/Regulatory)
  • Provide  support to Consumer O&T FP&A Lead to  develop process Improvements and effectively manage  multifarious interactions , eg., Effectively collaborate with Finance and Tech communities in Asia GCB markets to ensure transparency of  Technology charge-outs

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Excellent working knowledge of Consumer businesses
  • Prior experience of working within Planning and Analysis
  • Broad experience of working within Finance in a highly matrixed global Financial Services firm

  • Highly articulate in verbal presentations as well as written communications
  • Demonstrated strength in detailed financial analysis
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior-level executives

Qualifications:
  • Strong financial accounting background with post qualification experience of 8-10 years
  • Familiarity with Financial Services Industry and/or related business products would be desirable but not essential
