Job Purpose:
  • Support Lead of GCB Consolidation of Asia Planning and Analysis Team in the support of Asia GCB
  • Active interaction with the Countries, NY and regional product teams to form a consolidated GCB view
  • Assist in driving performance of GCB businesses and countries in Asia through leading management information, analytics and metrics
  • Assist to drive strategic initiatives to improve business performance and enhanced productivity
  • Overviewing the Expense Management initiative for the GCB Franchise
  • Support AxJ GCB Franchise FP&A team in Singapore and Mumbai  CoE team supporting Asia GCB
Job Background/Context:
  • The FP&A function is primarily responsible for providing management information and analysis to senior management in Asia. This includes performance measurement, strategic presentations, monthly business and country performance reporting, annual Budget and Forecasting, competitor analysis and significant Ad hoc analysis
  • The team interfaces closely all businesses and functional areas in order to provide complete perspectives on franchise performance
  • The role will involve the financial support for Consumer business heads will be a key interface for the Finance team in New York as the GCB business results are externally disclosed
  • The GCB FP&A team forms part of the overall FP&A function which also comprises ICG, Global Functions and Corporate Operations and Technology and the core regional team
  • Work closely with other areas of Finance including Corporate Treasury
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing robust performance management of the GCB business in Asia, providing insight into the performance and drivers of the business through financial analysis and leading financial metrics
  • Partner with Mumbai FP&A to ensure fortnightly outlook process is accurate, robust, timely. Also partnering with GPO to refine the overall outlook collation process
  • Leveraging the various standard tools (Citi Insights, MSR) to replace some of the bespoke reporting
  • Strengthen the controls over data quality. Develop tools to improve process time and more creative analysis of business performance
  • Assist in providing insight into areas of underperformance and proposed corrective actions (ie detailed Opps and Risks framework)
  • Integrate the Investment and Productivity framework into the BAU business performance management framework
  • Prepare management information for review by management. This forms the basis for conversations with NY in quarterly 'Earnings' calls with Citigroup CFO and Investor Relations
  • Provide insight to FP&A head in preparation of Asia GCB business reviews with product and country management
  • Engaging with various stakeholders to gather timely insights
  • Manage the preparation of strategic plans for GCB (annual budget exercise, quarterly forecast, 3 year strategic plans etc)
  • Play key interface role with other functional areas
  • Develop pipeline of Finance talent through management and coaching of immediate team as well as resources partnered in the markets

  • Excellent working knowledge of Consumer businesses (GCB and LCB)
  • Prior experience of working within Planning and Analysis
  • Broad experience of working within Finance in a highly matrixed global Financial Services firm
  • Highly articulate in verbal presentations as well as written communications
  • Demonstrated strength in detailed financial analysis
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy
  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
