Roles and Responsibilities

The Sales and Distribution function within Citi APAC & EMEA is undergoing a significant and rapid evolution to ensure we stay leading edge and future fit. This includes pooling our Relationship Managers in Wealth Hubs; ensuring they have access to a deep bench of specialist support, world class products, sales & advice tools and development programs; driving more effective sales management practice; and reconfiguring our branch ecosystem & sales processes to enable high quality remote engagement with customers wherever possible.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manage insurance sales performance and its distribution strategies across Branch, Telesales and Digital
  • Develop and execute S&D strategies and insurance playbook to ensure consistency in sales model, discipline and governance to help drive strong growth and profitability in all markets
  • Strong focus on working with AIA across 11 markets to build best in class bancassurance model. Key participant in Regional Steerco Committees and take ownership of action items assigned to Sales and Distribution
  • Work closely with insurance sales team Heads and BMs to provide support and to manage sales teams performance in non-AIA markets.
  • Proactively monitor and manage key drivers such as FTE, RM activation, productivity and average ticket size
  • Develop and execute channel delivery initiatives and oversee digital platform/tools adoptions that have high impact on regional insurance sales campaigns. Work collaboratively with regional product teams
  • Ensure execution of the most optimal bancassurance sales model & to ensure the most appropriate remuneration, incentives and capacity are adopted
  • Work closely with markets to drive sales activity, client events, staff coaching programs
  • Delivery of plan targets at regional level on all insurance sales, proactively track country performances and provide support and share best practices
  • Rapid adoption of digital sales tools this includes ensuring the right training takes place, continuous improvement feedback is provided to regional S&D tool team, and able to recommend a coherent strategy that avoid clutter and conflict across products/segments
  • Provide support on key regional S&D change initiatives and input to development and maintenance of a robust and high quality control environment within the bancassurance business across markets     
  • Responsible for the annual planning exercise


The ideal Candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • University degree, preferably in business management
  • At least 10 years financial industry experience with at least 5 years in the insurance industry. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar capacity a significant track record in managing Insurance sales in a Bancassurance Channel is preferred
  • Proven record in driving Bancassurance channel initiatives with success
  • Proven record in driving new applications utilizing new technology
  • Experience in more than one market or in a regional/global role is preferred
  • Creative approach, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently as well as collaborate effectively as part of a wider team
  • Strong persuasion and communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to work across time zones with global and regional teams
  • This role requires minimum of 10 years of financial industry experience with 5 years in the insurance industry
  • Strong sales management skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate sales teams
