Job Purpose: This role is responsible for:
  • Oversight of all Insurance partnership operations - engaging, enabling & managing the various Insurance partner relationships with focus on AIA in 11 markets
  • Responsible for the revenue and VoNB plan for the ASEAN + India Insurance business
  • Work with strategic Life & General insurance partners to leverage their expertise in product & proposition development. Build strategy that drives strong growth, profitability and competitive advantage in targeted customer and product segments
  • Bancassurance 2.0 model development covering all Direct & Digital sales opportunities leveraging, analytics, marketing and new technologies to build bespoke customer offerings for all Citi client segments
Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Responsibilities
    • Ownership & delivery of the Retail Insurance VoNB & revenue goals for ASEAN + IN (2018 plan | US$65 Mn & US$ 35 Mn respectively) with a 20% Y-o-Y growth rate in the next 3 years
    • Build & Scale the Cards Insurance VoNB & revenue to US$ 30 Mn & US$ 25 Mn respectively through Direct & Digital channels in partnership with AIA with the same growth rates as above
    • Build a GI business generating US$ 15Mn in revenue in select markets over the next 2-3 years
  • Strategic Responsibilities
    • Engaging all strategic insurance partners, managing the Regional Insurance steering committees, and operationalizing the Insurance partner engagement & governance structure for APAC & EMEA with special focus on the AIA partnership in 11 markets
    • Build an omni-channel Life, A&H & GI proposition for Citibanking, Cards & Citi priority customer segments through one Insurance account view.
    • Maintain an understanding of market competitive digital & direct insurance developments and their impact on our business and drive innovation
    • Run RFPs for strategic General Insurance partnerships in focus markets to build this fully digital line of business for the bank
  • Operational Responsibilities
    • Work with AIA Group partnership team to oversee engagement and governance of the various regional & local committees to execute on the various partnership objectives & key strategic priorities
    • Drive consistent and superior client experience for Citi-AIA Bancassurance partnership in APAC
    • Work with various General insurance partners to build their propositions in markets to grow the Citi GI business
    • Work with Citi & partner technology teams to build an eCommerce platform for offer delivery and purchase of all insurance propositions
    • Work with multi-discipline partner & Citi teams to build a scoring mechanism for protection products to remove friction from the sales process and hyper-personalize offers for bespoke Insurance propositions
    • Work with regional and country business, decision management and marketing teams to drive penetration of insurance across customer segments with multiple creative offers to different segments
    • Work closely with country & regional product heads to enable development of superior & simple customer-centric product propositions


Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:
  • 15 years of relevant industry experience preferably with strong background in business management & product development in financial services
  • Background in Life Insurance Strategy & Corporate development, Sales & Marketing
  • Experience in managing and operating in partnerships / jt. venture environments
  • Knowledge and proficiency in building product propositions and marketing them to various customer segments
  • Exposure to analytics, digital & social tools and other emerging technology trends
  • Preference in having built and managed eCommerce, digital, direct sales business models
