The Economics & Country Risk group at IHS Markit is seeking a Commercial Director to grow revenue in the APAC region. This position is at the Director level and will report to the VP- Commercial Leader for ECR and have dotted line reporting to the ECR Global Head of Sales.

Success in this role will be measured by revenue generation of the ECR business in APAC. Responsibilities include working with Sales to develop specific go-to-market strategies, identifying and prioritizing white space, driving and managing strategic regional partnerships, working with Research and the global Product Management team to drive and implement regional specific product strategies, setting a research travel calendar designed to drive sales and focus activities, and working with APAC Marketing teams to design and implement persona-focused events. Responsibilities will also include supporting Sales on new business and renewal opportunities by giving senior level client presentations.

General Job Duties:
  • Drive APAC specific product strategies
  • Partner with Sales to provide Subject Matter Expertise in front of clients in the Asia Pacific region
  • Partner with Sales to review proposals and ensure appropriate end user positioning
  • Monitor competitive landscape in APAC
  • Partner with Marketing to identify key areas for campaigns and events
  • Support and drive select commercial partnerships in region


Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Political Science, Business or related field
  • Experience in the information sector, or in a role using business information required
  • Product Management Certification a plus
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Fluency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be deadline oriented
  • Prior sales or business development experience in APAC
  • Must be able to prioritize and focus on key initiatives
  • Must be able to work well with others and willing to work across time zones with teams in the Americas and Europe.
