Digital Payments Product Manager

Overall Job Purpose:

  • Working within our new Digital Payments team, you will be responsible for driving the overall strategy and value propositions across all digital payments products including non-traditional cards and payment products, focusing on digital and mobile platforms

  • You will be leading business efforts to define, acquire and retain key partners so as to capture and grow OCBC's share of the digital payments ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with eBusiness, internal IT and external partners, to own the end-to-end business cases of new-age payment products, including but not limited to:
    • Mobile Wallets (PayPal, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, GrabPay, AliPay, WeChat Pay, Facebook Messenger etc)
    • NETS-related (EFTPOS, NETS 2.0, NETS Pay, Static QR payment ecosystem)
    • Drive to increase usage into various OCBC payment flows.

  • Develop 3 rd party partnerships with leading commerce and/or payment services providers; work with cross functional teams to provide end-to-end technology and operations solutions, develop service delivery models, formulate detailed Implementation/ Training/ Customer Communication plans

  • Drive the complete customer journey - business opportunity identification, partner engagement, solution sell and commercial discussions

  • Continuous assessment of business, operations and technology practices aimed at cost saves and revenue generation

  • Provide input on consultation papers, customer complaints and regulatory mandates as requested by the regulators

  • Monitor, manage and report performance metrics of the digital payment products

Business Development:
  • Proven track record of executing business development strategies through partner engagement at senior levels in areas of digital, e-commerce or payments

  • Exposure and working knowledge of emerging payments such as, but not limited to mobile commerce, Mobile payments, digital wallets, social media platform payments

  • Good analytical and segmentation skills, capable of providing insight to customer trends and market needs

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at various levels, with ability to build rapport and collaborative partnerships internally as well as industry players
  • Good understanding of the AP start-up ecosystem to identify partnership opportunities in key verticals.

Technical Knowledge
  • Deep experience with existing and emerging financial services players or within a commercial entity with direct responsibility for payments, at least 5 of which is in a product management role within a payment/digital banking space

  • Must have good technical understanding of the various payment switches, solutions and pricing models
