Debit Card Product Manager - Assistant Vice President
The Deposits Debit Card product manager is a role within Retail Bank (Consumer Banking) reporting to the Head of Deposits & Debit Card. This is a middle management role responsible for managing the overall debit card and Citi Global Wallet (CGW) portfolio. In Citi, Citi Global wallet enables clients to better manage their foreign currency usage needs where the auto currency identifier debits from the relevant deposit account without the client incurring further foreign exchange exposure from his purchase.

The candidate will engage in project management for all debit and CGW related enhancements, including wallets expansion and ultilisation . This include an end-to-end mapping of the Debit card client journey from onboarding to usage, roll out of the enhancements. The candidate will also see through the various stage of the CGW life cycle including switching on the wallet functionality, usage, eFX capabilities as well as launching campaigns to drive portfolio deepening initiatives, revenue growth actions and effective digital client engagement.

The candidate will be required to have a comprehensive understanding of various areas within the Retail bank business and have strong retail and wealth management knowledge and good understanding of the banking and regulatory environment and competitive landscape. The candidate will also collaborate closely with teams across country and regional functions to align on the strategic direction and deliver the initiatives through a team-empowering environment in order to drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop Debit Card propositions from end-to-end, i.e. system, business strategies, plan execution and usage

  • Accelerate revenue growth and cross sell actions through targeted portfolio actions and tactical customer campaigns

  • Collaborate with country and regional partners as well as harness technology, digital capabilities and analytics to deliver these debit strategies in a customer-centric approach in order to drive results

  • Commercialise a smooth digital client engagement journey leveraging best-in-class Citi Mobile app to drive Citi Global wallet deepening and engagement initiatives in contextual personalized approach by overlaying digital capabilities and data analytics.

  • Partner with MasterCard & Segment to direct and oversee product marketing and client communication .

  • Manage and provide product support for all transactional & payment functions of Debit card products as well as all transactional related functions including new industry initiatives

  • Assess relevant customer, competitor, and industry insights to help define strategies to improve Citi Global Wallet in the digital client engagement journey and usage growth .

  • Protect the Bank by complying with relevant policies, procedures and country legal/regulatory requirements

  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency .
  • Contribute to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans
  • Develop and communicate a business plan to approach the marketplace, and coordinate and implement team procedures, client problem resolutions and client management
  • Help drive innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage ongoing relationships, engage in negotiations, and prepare agreements
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:


  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in consumer retail banking, preferably in debit card or wallets

  • Cross functional knowledge (e.g. marketing, product, digital, analytics)

  • Ability to drive business growth actions and effective digital client engagement, leverage management information, and utilize data analytics to drive results

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management with focus on usage growth and cross sell
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
