Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and validation of predictive and self learning algorithms for credit decisioning
  • Improvise and develop credit strategies for specific SME segments through advanced data science
  • Drive the digitalization of credit processes end to end (origination, analysis, disbursement, collection, monitoring and recovery) through cross functional collaboration
  • Implement an automated system of credit analysis and quality assurance for loans made
  • Evaluate and approve SME loans originated by the Business Financing team and channels
  • Ensuring sound asset quality, appropriate credit risk management procedures and balanced credit culture, whilst ensuring that the credit approval process and other risk management procedures are responsive to customer needs
  • Review credit on delinquent accounts, evaluate likelihood of recovery and manage collection duties to recover the debt
  • Develop and maintain the risk management framework
  • Develop and continuously improve the risk appetite framework and the stress and scenario testing framework and clearly articulate/communicate risk strategy, appetite and policies
  • Identify emerging risk issues, escalate where appropriate initiate mitigating strategies and report to the Risk Committee and/ or Board as appropriate
  • Ensure development and implementation of systems and reports sufficient to identify, monitor, control and report on risk exposures against existing approved limits


  1. Minimum 8-10 years experience in SME lending, credit review, approval, risk analytics, portfolio management or recovery
  2. Preferred market experience: Singapore, Malaysia
  3. Advanced knowledge of Excel, working knowledge of SQL or R.
  4. Masters or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering etc.)
  5. Excellent people skills
  6. Strong in written and verbal communications
