Job Purpose

The Brand Room team at Standard Chartered is responsible for supporting the global business through the provision of digital and traditional design, finished artwork and copywriting. Ensuring quality communication and timely delivery of projects focused on internal and external brand alignment. The company has almost 87,000 employees across 70 markets. Delivering consistency in communication visually and verbally ensures a united experience for all staff and customers.

The purpose of this role is to:
* Deliver consistent and impactful copy to support a range of brand initiatives internally and externally
* Express and build recognition in a consistent tone of voice for the bank
* Adhere to brand standards in an ever-evolving, multi-cultural, diverse environment
* Drive excellence and creativity through your role in collaboration with the in-house design team

Key Responsibilities
* Respond to briefs with clarity, creativity and alignment to brand standards
* Convert ideas into concise, easy-to-understand and consistent written communication
* Ability to write appropriate language for both online and offline applications, long-form and short-form
* Optimise content for search engines
* Develop copy content in collaboration with the creative team and business colleagues
* Digest and transform complex product information
* Proofreading
* Keep up to date with popular culture and trends
* Collaborate with vendors and agencies when required

* The Creative Director
* The Creative team and Traffic/Project Manager
* Internal business functions

* Vendors and agencies

Key Measurables
* Feedback from Creative Director on effective and relevant delivery of projects
* Efficient and timely delivery of all projects and activities
* Ability to develop cross-platform copy in line with the approved tone of voice standards
* Embrace and express the company values and behaviours in your role

Experience/Knowledge Required
* 4-8+ years' copywriting experience in a digitally driven creative design environment - agency or MNC
* Exceptional writing, grammar and editing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business' various types of content.
* Preferred experience in both B2B and B2C
* At least 3 years of SEO and keyword research experience
* Self-starter able to work quickly, delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment; well organised, able to manage workloads effectively and meet tight deadlines
* Able to work independently or in collaboration with the creative team and business colleagues.
* Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Some knowledge of Adobe CS6 would be preferred
* Experience in writing for financial services would be an advantage
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Formal education (Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or equivalent required
