Contract Type: 12 Months (Convertible based on performance)

My client, a leading international bank is looking to hire a AML/CFT Compliance Manager for their Compliance Team.

Job Requirements:

  • Client Onboarding and conducting ongoing monitoring (OM) on High-Risk savings, current accounts and fixed deposit which responsibility involves in completing OM form including performing screening, assigning risk rating etc. Coordination with Customer Service Department, Corporate Relationship Department and relevant departments to obtain necessary documents from the customer.
  • Responsibility includes reducing overdue OM reviews to NIL and regular follow-up outstanding documents.
  • Update and interpret ALL regulations, guidelines or of a similar nature issued by relevant authorities.
  • Establish tracking mechanism on the changes in regulations, e.g. register and report to General Manager and Compliance Division in Head Office (KPN) regularly.
  • Conduct regular / adhoc discussion with the relevant departments (all level of staff) on ALL changes to regulations, guidelines or of a similar nature (New, Amendment, Repealed) issued by relevant authorities.
  • Perform Gap Analysis, Impact Analysis on New / Changes in Regulations, Guidelines etc.
  • Responsible to ensure proper implementation of controls in relation to new / changes in regulations, guidelines etc. and assist the relevant departments to design the required control.
  • Acting as AML / CFT Compliance Officer
  • Establishing and ensuring adequacy of AML/CFT framework.
  • Maintain and continue to update or improvise on the AML/CFT related systems.
  • Conducting / arrange regular training Performing regular Workload Analysis, Training Need Analysis (coordinate with Regulatory Compliance Manager)
  • Conducting Compliance Review on AML/CFT for all departments. Compliance findings must be relayed to and discussed with the relevant HOD and staff, evidence of discussion must be available in writing with signatures from both sides and report findings to GM and KPN.
  • Preparing regular Enterprise-Wide AML / CFT Risk Assessment
  • Handle all queries from MAS, IRAS or other authorities, law enforcement and stakeholders on AML/CFT related issues.
  • Update the Legal and Compliance P&P to address the changes in Compliance duties particularly in relation to AML/CFT and mitigation conflict of interest / duties.
  • Regular validation on all Policy and Procedure Manuals on AML/CFT issues and sign-off on the manuals.
  • Acting as STR Officer
  • Acting as MAS Primary Contact Person on AML/CFT matters.
  • Acting as MAS Liaison Officer, duties include assisting other departments in the submission of returns / surveys, assigning / removing MASNET user profiles, disseminating emails / correspondences to the relevant departments
  • New Product Committee
  • Management Committee Other Function
  • As a preparer of Credit Compliance Review
  • Credit Bureau (CBS) contact person Policy Updating
  • Prevention Fraud
  • Prevention of Money Laundering (ML) and Combating Financing of Terrorism (CFT)


The Successful Applicant

  • Strong AML/CFT background with preferably 7-8 years of compliance experience.
  • Extremely well versed in AML/KYC requirements of MAS and SFC.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Articulate and able to deliver high quality work product.
  • Must be organized and able to remain calm under some degree of pressure / thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detailed and meticulous personality along with strong personal interpersonal skills required.
