We are looking for an experienced Singapore based Communications Manager to join a team dedicated to raising the profile and maintaining the reputation of S&P Global Platts, one of the four divisions that make up S&P Global. Your core responsibilities will be leading Corporate Communications for S&P Global Platts in Asia involving the regional implementation of the communications Strategy in Asia, managing regional stakeholders, including regional and global heads of commodities and head of region. As well as external communications, you will lead internal communications for S&P Global Platts in Asia, working as part of overall global strategic programme and support S&P Global communications initiatives in Asia, particularly in Singapore.

You understand financial markets and are comfortable working with financial data. You have strong press relationships across Asia and are very familiar with the media landscape. You will work with stakeholders and team members across regions; aligning with Marketing; and creating and delivering messages externally and internally that illuminate S&P Global Platts strategic direction, image and brand.

The Role:
Media Relations -- Raise and support the overall media visibility for the insight, data and analysis published by S&P Global Platts leveraging your existing relationship with key journalists.
Public Relations - Raise and protect the profile of S&P Global Platts and in particular its existing and developing commodity benchmarks.
Strategic Message Development - assist in the creation of key regional messaging that will resonate both internally and externally with key stakeholders.
Internal Communications - Generate compelling and creative employee-focused content aligned with the core goals, objectives and success measures for S&P Global Platts.

The Impact:
You will be a part of a dynamic communications group who can flex between external and internal communications. You will have the opportunity to bring greater transparency to the markets by promoting our energy and commodity research and analysis, while also being an external spokesperson for key issues, such as benchmark methodology evolution. You will work with analysts, pricing and news team to create newsworthy data-led pitches based on our market leading insight. You will help employees access the right information at the right time so they understand and are engaged with the division's strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years' experience in Media Relations within a corporate or communications agency
  • Portfolio of written work such as data-led media pitches, press releases, and/or employee messaging
  • Proven experience using social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to amplify messages.
  • Relationships with media contacts across broadcast, digital and print.
  • BA in Communications, English, Journalism, Analyst qualifications or related field

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • 10-15 Years of Media Relations
  • Excellent writing, communications and organizational skills
  • Excellent financial acumen, to identify and generate data-led media pitches in Excel
  • Experience in managing crisis situations
  • Proactive, tactical and creative in crafting communications strategy
  • Knowledge of current news and events that impact the economy and markets
  • Knowledge of the commodity markets is desired - but not essential
  • Knowledge of PR tools such as Roxhill, Telum
