Global Trade Finance (GTF) is a sub group under Lending in Banking. GTF provides financial instruments and other services to support clients' working capital and cross-border transactions. The key products include Traditional Trade, Supply Chain Finance and Export Finance.

The Asia Trade Product Controller team is responsible for the overall integrity and accuracy of the financial information related to Trade Products. We divide our responsibilities between businesses as usual processes (i.e. monthly close, financial general ledger reporting and regulatory activities), the firm finance target / systems infrastructure and strategic projects to support the business.

The Asia Trade Product Controller team is an ideal area for a highly motivated candidate to develop their career. The team partners with a multitude of regional & global stakeholders including Credit, Risk Management, Product Management, Operations, Line of Business and Legal Entity Controllers to deliver on the product control agenda whilst providing the business meaningful and timely support and analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The APAC Trade Product Controller team is seeking to hire a highly motivated candidate to join the regional team based in Singapore and support the tasks below:
• The Asia Trade Product Controller team is seeking to hire a highly motivated candidate to manage the regional team based in Singapore and support the tasks below:
• Perform monthly close activities including but not limited to review of financial data, investigating significant variances and transactions, fluctuation analysis, preparation of financial reporting deliverables, preparation of estimate accruals, entry processing, perform reconciliations, general ledger substantiation etc.
• Driving change within month-end processes in order to improve transparency in month-end results.
• Participate in the review of New Business Initiatives for Trade Products.
• Ensure financial information is in compliance with US & local GAAP and the Bank's Corporate Accounting Policies, documenting exceptions where appropriate.
• Act as a resource to project management & the businesses for various projects / business initiatives.
• Identify and drive targeted reviews for specific products/processes based on both qualitative and quantitative factors and risks.
• Understand and contribute to the control framework of the business.

Required Profile:

• Qualified or Part qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with 5+ years of experience
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated and effective under tight timeframes and pressure
• Proven skills in identifying and resolving control issues that may impact financial results
• Experience reviewing/creating complex operational and general ledger process flows
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence including the ability to present complex and sensitive matters
• Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills
• Ability to manage several projects and tasks concurrently
• Ability to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal financial controls
• Advanced MS Excel skills and MS PowerPoint skills are essential
• Team player and ability to work closely with global team members and other groups in the organization.
• Good knowledge of Oracle / SAP ledger system is preferred
• Good knowledge of Trade products and process flow is a plus
