We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Analyst Manager.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Provides expertise in Agile engineering practices (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, LEAN) as well as Disciplined Agile and SAFE framework experience
  • Leads agile engineering teams using DevOps practices such as test automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Contributes to the IT Portfolio and Programme Management practice
  • Provides insight as to how a BA should learn and progress throughout the organisation
  • Drives adoption of the practice across the BA community
  • Works within the Global Advisory and Environment Social & Governance (ESG) programmes, critical and complex Technology projects - that span across multiple business units and/or geographies
  • Supports and guides the Product Owner to create/evolve Product roadmap, creation of epics and writing of user stories and managing the product backlog
  • Creates analysis of customer journeys and product functionality
  • Helping define and track metrics and Key Performance Indicators for the product
  • Drives the Agile Team performance and outcome metrics as required
  • Engages with senior technology project and technology programme managers as well as product owners
  • Has a high level of expertise in multiple technical capabilities and competencies such: as cloud, mobile, digital, security, core banking, micro services, capacity management and architecture platforms
  • Has an expertise in process and is considered an authority in multiple areas, such as: disciplined agile software delivery, production support processes, continuous DevOps pipelines
  • Understands risk exposure to the bank and help senior colleagues manage it
  • Assures delivery through the entire life-cycle of the project of user requirements through to live
  • Drives measurable continuous improvement into all delivery environments across all disciplines
  • Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the project plan, commitments and changes
  • Support Technology teams to manage delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, resourcing, dependencies, communications, budget
  • Provide management to maintain a focus on how the project aligns to wider programme objectives, where appropriate, and to the change portfolio across HSBC
  • Oversee the monitoring and reporting of progress, issues, dependencies, risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees
  • Make recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Establish effective governance and controls, in line with Business Transformation Framework and coordination of cross technology teams, cross Global Business/Global Functions delivery


  • Strong knowledge of Project management skills, Business Analysts Skills and proven professional with considerable at least 10 years of experience as project or programme lead, preferably within Banking
  • Agile trained and proven records of working in Agile environments
  • Proven record in decision making, analytical, problem solving and people management and experience in managing difficult stakeholders of different work streams
  • Proven record in Risks management
  • Proven record in excellent presentation skills with strong governance in programme management experience with senior management at Chief level
  • Proven leader to delivery of on time and on budget projects that achieve business case stated outcomes, a driver with bias towards delivery at pace and controlling project outcomes
  • In depth and well-rounded experience of working in a banking and Insurance environment and change projects
  • Excellent and Proven record of Stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, influencing and running project governance Implementation, change management and benefits realization
  • Good prioritizing, multi-skills, organizational, time management ability and able to work in dynamic and fast pace culture including multiple hat
  • Hands on attitude being able to cope with a wide range of different requirements and projects aspect including data migration, process streamline, finance, pricing, products, vendor and infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Team works, and able to promote an environment of cooperation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered
  • Promote pace and energy within the team and leads by example, had good cooperation, and always seeking opportunities for personal development
  • PMP or MSP Certified / Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Agile Certify/Scrum master, streamline processing and best practice techniques
  • FLMI Certify or equivalent (e.g. LOMA)
  • Excellent in using Excel, PowerPoint, Jira and Confluence
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification and Business reengineering knowledge
