This role is part of the newly formed Regulatory Solutions function, which is part of the Business Arm of our three lines of defence at Fidelity International (FIL), supporting and advising our businesses in achieving their regulatory change objectives. Comprising of business, regulatory and risk professionals, it operates globally within our Workplace & Personal Financial Health and Investment Solutions & Services businesses. FIL is focused on providing the best and most innovative investment services and products, and the Regulatory Solutions function plays a vital role in this.
The function provides proactive support and guidance to the business and operational functions globally, to ensure that regulatory solutions are developed and risks identified and managed in accordance with enterprise-wide strategic objectives. The Regulatory Solutions function is crucial to the development of an effective regulatory change management culture within the business, with a diverse portfolio within its global remit in an ever-changing risk and regulatory landscape.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Solutions, the role will be responsible for providing analysis, assessment and documentation for large, complex regulatory and governance initiatives, following output from horizon-scanning activity by our Compliance teams. Your focus will be on creating solutions for the business which best integrate the need to meet regulatory requirements with the needs of our clients and our business. The role holder will conduct analysis and solution development for specific programmes, proactively seeking resolutions to risks or issues that could impact project delivery. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the impact of regulatory initiatives on the financial services industry and impacting business functions, working closely with other business areas, such as Business Change and our General Counsel function (Risk, Compliance, Legal and Public Policy), to collaboratively deliver regulatory change programmes.
Provide regulatory analysis and document requirements for regulatory initiatives following output from horizon scanning activity
Takes the lead with complex and/or large global regulatory initiatives
Conduct business impact analysis to support solution development for both core programmes and ad-hoc project deliverables, aligning them with strategic objectives and business as usual activities
Produce and manage plans and timelines associated with the analysis of initiatives
Report progress of initiatives, as well as identify and seek resolutions to risks or issues to support project delivery
Provide regulatory expertise and knowledge to the business
Seek appropriate advice from our General Counsel functions for interpretation of requirements when developing solutions
Creation and maintenance of a Regulatory Traceability Matrix throughout lifecycle of programme
Be a champion of good process design and support customer focused development on all projects
Supports business briefings in conjunction with our General Counsel functions to inform of upcoming changes
Create solutions alongside the Business, General Counsel and other relevant functions for regulatory programmes that come under the responsibility of the team
Analyse feasibility of possible solutions using process and journey mapping to highlight and define solutions
Interact with all relevant business functions and develop an understanding of each impacted area to develop appropriate solutions
Hand off to Change Groups for delivery, ensuring the integrity of the agreed solution throughout the project and providing post-implementation assurance
Experience and Qualifications Required
Outstanding technical knowledge of the regulatory environment and its impact on asset management businesses
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Flexibility of thinking and an ability to analyse and distil complex information quickly
Experience working on large and complex regulatory initiatives in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of their impact on investment managers and platforms
Ability to provide detailed process analysis and documentation
Demonstrable project and process expertise or experience working directly as a business analyst
Experience communicating with senior stakeholders, as well as confident verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding influencing skills and comfortable operating at senior levels of an organisation
Strong sense of ownership with ability to work on challenging issues and overcome constraints and obstacles
Self-motivated, proactive, organised and able to use initiative and prioritise in a multi-task environment with experience of working within an international company
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including data analysis/manipulation in MS Excel
