Job Description In order to support the GCB regional growth agenda in SouthEast Asia, a GCB-S Banker ("the Banker") position is open in Singapore . The position will focus on delivering the Global Commercial Banking platform to our GCB-S clients in Singapore & South East Asia and executing the international GCB strategy.
ResponsibilitiesThe Banker will manage client relationships and provide a supporting role to the Singapore GCB-S team for the banking needs of Singapore & South East Asia based subsidiaries of Global Commercial Banking clients headquartered in North America. The role will focus on cross-selling all of the Bank's commercial banking products including credit, ABL, Leasing, Supply Chain Finance, Trade Finance, Cash and Liquidity Management, FX and Rates.

The Banker is expected to:

  • Develop and grow the assigned (both directly managed names and those jointly managed with other bankers) client relationships through coordination of regular client planning, working closely with GCB Regional and Global client teams together with product partners.
  • Assess clients' needs and work with product specialists to structure appropriate product solutions. Demonstrate to the clients a full understanding of their needs. Team up with business partners to offer comprehensive banking product offerings to targeted clients.
  • Drive a primary product set which includes credit and risk management, FICC products, cash management and trade solutions, debt capital raising, leasing, investment and treasury products.
  • Monitor P&L performance of the portfolio assigned, show accountability for the portfolio, demonstrating ownership and managing client relationships accordingly.
  • Assist and provide back up support to the GCB-S team in Singapore & South East Asia (including GCB portfolio covered by GCB-S Singapore team or hybrid bankers in South East Asia).
  • Demonstrate a value-add to the international client base, combining strong local market knowledge with a detailed understanding of their challenges and opportunities.
  • Work with in-country / regional / global banking and credit teams to manage credit exposure, capital commitments & relationship returns.
  • Be the escalation point for selected client relationships proactively solving issues, escalating appropriately to local CBK heads and GCB head in region.
  • Help establish and strengthen the Bank's presence and profile in the local market as a credible business partner and financial advisor.
  • Be a champion for managing selected relationships in Singapore and South East Asia in active consultation with in country and regional team members.
  • Be an active stakeholder in the development of the GCB-S South East Asia business, generating ideas, taking ownership and demonstrating appropriate leadership as a junior banker.

Relevant Experience
  • Sound knowledge of the industry/market practices/trends and client subsidiary banking needs in Singapore with minimum working experience of 4 years
  • Good communications, analytical and quantitative skills necessary to represent the Bank in a front office role
  • Good understanding of the core foundational banking products - credit, treasury & FX
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across the matrix and establish a robust internal/external network
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel data analysis and Power Point presentations
  • Basic credit knowledge or experience
